Public Benefit Statement

The Trustees of Lovehope & Faith confirm that they have had due regard for the guidance on Public Benefit by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland and are pleased to report that during the period the group continued to provide the Public Benefits through the programmes and services we offer. In particular, the Trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set.

Public Benefit

Our aim is to provide grants, social interaction in the form of day and evening social events, provision of specialist disability equipment for improved independence and improved mobility to kids with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. We wll also provide information, support and advice on finance/health/education/benefits/employment/housing facilitating and supporting research programmes.

The direct benefits which flow from our purpose include the provision of vital equipment to kids with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. The equipment the charity will supply is vital to holistic and social development. We also aim to provide support for the families involved by providing fully accessible and affordable holiday accommodation with the aim to improve health outcomes and reduce levels of stress and anxiety.

Achievements and Performance

The primary event for the 2022-23 year was the Sensory Day in Braid Town Hall, June 2022. 25 families attended the event and we considered this a huge success and vital to raising awareness for Lovehope& Faith. Preparatory work including Business Plan and Architect Preliminary drawings for a new Retreat Centre commenced in 2022. We will continue to drive for the ultimate delivery of the centre in future years.

Lovehope & Faith is a non-profit making organisation. Total income for the year amounted to £19,683 (2022: £32,671). Income derived from donations and legacies amounted to £12,483 (2022: £21,071) and other income from grant bodies and charitable activities amounted to £7,200 (2022: £11,600).

Total expenditure for the year amounted to £26,811 (2022: £24,759).

The net income for the year amounted to (£7,128), (2022: £1,782) with net assets of £10,821 (2022: £17,949) at 31 March 2023. The Trustees consider that the Association is in a satisfactory position to carry on its charitable activities.
