A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year

24 girls took part in the unit in 2023. During the year we completed lots of unit meeting activities which were designed by Girlguiding UK. We completed badges such as explore stage 1, communicate stage 1 and lead stage 1. We had parties for the King’s Coronation, Christmas and Halloween. We went on a unit trip to Lorne, Girlguiding Ulster’s headquarters and also went to the cinema with the unit. There was no private benefit or harm flowing from the charity’s purpose.

A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance

In planning the activities for the year, the trustees of 1st Whitehead Rainbows unit have had regard to the Commission`s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. This enables us to achieve our purposes and provide a benefit to the girls in the unit. Trustees are aware of this.

A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year

Balance brought forward from 2020: £1800.67. The income for 1st Whitehead Rainbow unit in 2023 was £3267.23. Included in this amount is a small grant from the Education Authority. The expenditure for the year was £3654.78.

Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit

There were no funds held in deficit at the end of the year
