All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws. The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.

There were 24 girls in the unit. The unit held a number of outdoor events in the summer term of 2024. This included outdoor adventurous, walks, and outdoor games. The girls planned and took part in a camp at Lorne Estate in August 2024. This included a range of outdoor pursuits including rafting, canoeing, water adventure park, climbing and archery. From September 2024 to March 2025 the unit met weekly as normal. The girls participated in a wide range of activities including cookery, crafts, mental health awareness sessions, candle decoupage, dance sessions and several relaxation and self-esteem workshops. We had visits from iconic Street Dance, Bollywood dancers, Neal’s Yard Organics, laughter yoga and enjoyed an outing to Enchanted Winter Gardens in Antrim at Christmas. We enjoyed an overnight residential in November 2024, taking part in pottery painting, pony trekking, jewellery making and Christmas craft. In February 2025 the girls attended a Mental Heakth themed Zen Zone overnight at Lorne Estate and took part in a variety of workshops to promote good mental health including positive mind set, calming techniques, outdoor activities and campfire cookery. The girls also enjoyed an outing to the cinema and a visit to a local pantomime throughout the year. There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private benefit. A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance 

In planning the activities for the year the trustees of 5" Larne Ranger Unit (Senior Section Unit) have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. This enables us to achieve our purposes and provide a benefit to the girls in the unit.

A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year 

The income for 5" Larne Ranger unit for the financial year ended 31 March 2025 was £5125.55. The expenditure for the year was £5317.64. The unit ended the year in credit of £219.89 

Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit 

There was no fund in deficit at the year end. While expenditure for the year was greater than income, this was covered by reserves from the previous financial year. One or more of the Charity Trustees must sign and date the box below.
