' The financial. year the report relates to — for example, 1° April 2016 to 31°* March 2017 | ° A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year Uesch were 45 girls in the unit. In April 2024 the unit continued to meet weekly and enjoy outdoor events. The ice focused on map and compass work and making way along various outdoor trails. In May the girls : € local RNLI station to learn about water safety and the work of RNLI. They also had a day outing to Breckenhill Activity centre for some outdoor pursuits and bushcraft. In June the unit enjoyed outdoor meetings Including a beach evening, visits to Carnfunnock Country park, a walk along the local promenade and a BBQ. The ; unit planted a tree in memory of Scarlett Rossborough — a member of the unit killed in a road traffic accident in 10 moths earlier. At the end of June 20 Brownies and 8 leaders travelled to near Loch Lomond in Scotland to : spend a weekend. The girls enjoyed visiting local attractiosn such as the aquarium and Bird of Prey centre, completing crafts, visiting Glasgow Science Centre and painting pottery at Rouken Glen Pottery. In August the : girls enjoyed two days at Lorne estate on Brownie Holiday. They took part in outdoor activities including zipline, : climbing, abseil, archery and crate challenge. The enjoyed crafts, music, games and outdoor campfires. At the end of August, the girls went paddleboarding in Carrickfergus marina. Weekly meetings resumed in September : 2024 and the girls enjoyed meetings with a wellbeing theme including Kids yoga, relaxation and good food anda Bollywood dancing and completing a priate challenge and a Random Acts of Kindness Challenge. At Christmas | bath bomb making workshop. They also enjoyed a lego animation workshop, a session of street dance and the unit had a visit from Wee Critters Animal Experience which proved very successful. In the spring term of 2025, the unit completed the local history badge, visiting Drumalis House (Former Home of Sir Hugh Smiley) and : St Patrick’s Church Cairncastle where they learnt about the legend of the Spanish Armada Tree and completed craft. The girls also completed the Jobs badge. The girls thought about different jobs and designed a poster of | themselves in 20 years time. The unit held a job fair and invited 12 different ladies in a range of professions to ! chat to the girls and answer their questions. We held two overnight residentials one in the Autumn term and one | in February 2025. On the first, in October 2024 the unit visited The Ulster Museum, Tropical ravine, and WE are Vertigo in Belfast. Accommodation was at Crawfordsburn Activity Centre and outdoor activities were enjoyed on site. . The second was at KIlcronaghan Centre near Magerafelt. The girls enjoyed visiting World of Owls in Templepatrick and Airtastic and Rosegift Pottery in Portglenone. The girls also enjoyed a second Lego animation workshop and made some intricate crafts to take home. During the year the girls also attended the local Remembrance Day Pararde and joined with other guiding units in Larne for events at Christmas and on Thinking Day. Over the year all the girls gained several badges including skill builder badges in Leadership and Communication, interest badges in Dance, Local History, Jobs, Mindfulness and fun badges Scarlett’s Challenge, Friendship and Pirates. There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private benefit.

In planning the activities for the year the trustees of 6" Larne Brownie Unit have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. This enables us to achieve our Purposes and provide a benefit to the girls in the unit.
A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year
The income for 6" Larne Brownie unit for the financial year ended 31 March 2025 was £13,863.90. Included in this was generic funding from Education Authority, small project grants from the Education Authority, and NACN. The expenditure for the year was £24,106.39. This included expenditure on the trip to Glasgow in June 2024. The unit ended the year in credit of £395.52.
Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit No fund was in deficit. While expenditure was greater than income for this financial year there was funds present in the account from the previous financial year which were for the Glasgow trip in June 2024. Overall, the unit ended the year in credit.
