In April 2023 the unit continued to meet weekly and enjoy outdoor events including a beach evening, visits to Carnfunnock Country parl a walk along the local promenade and a BBQ. In May the unit visited Belfast Zoo and held an overnight residential at Dunluce Guide House. On 9 August 2023 one of our young member5. Scarlett Rossborough (aged 81 was tragically killed in a road traffic acudent. This wa5 a shock to all the leaders and girls. and she is slill very much missed from amongst us. Weekly meetings resumed in September 2023 and the girls enjoyed. crafts including jumping clay, jewellery making and flower arranging. We also completed a Community Aciion project and a fun Gonk Challenge. I November 2023 the girls planned and took part in a 3 % hour sponsored campfire which raised £3200.This was divided equally between Air Ambulance Nl {which attended the scene of ScarlÈtYs accident) and Nl Childrens'cancer Unit at RVH Iwhere one of our previous members had been treated the year before). We held two ovemight residentials in the Autumn term. both at Lorne estate, Craigavad. On the first, in October 2023 wevi5Lted Clip and Climb, bowling, Indiana land and look part in afthery. The Second, In December the girls attended the 'Lost Penguin. event at lorne and enjoyed lots of Christmas ¢raft and games. In January 2024 the glrls took part in several self esteem workshops induding relaxation and drama with Uolift Perfoming Arts. In Febrvary ond Mar¢h 2023 the girls travelled the world at V4eekly meetings and tried foods. crafts ad garnes from countries induding Iceland. India and Africa. They also completed the aviation badge, investigatingflight and making kites. The glrls enjoyed an overnight residential at Moyallan Centre, Portadown visiting C&J Animal Park. Airta5tic and bowllng. The leaders and 20 gir15 made final preparations for a twfrrhight residentlal to take place in Glasgow in June 2024. Atthe end of tern). the 8ITls and leaders planted a tree in the ground5 of our Churth hall in memory of Scarlett Rossborough. Duringthe year the girts also attended the local Remembrance Day Pararde and joined with other guiding units In Larne for events at Christmas nd on Thinking Day. tr the year all the 81115 galned several badges induding Skill builder badges in Community Action and Adventures, interest badges In Charities, Aviation, mindfulne55 and fun badges Gonks. The expenditure for the year was £20,568.88. The unit ended the year in credit of 10.806.67 whith includes monies for the three day1ty4o night residential to Glèsgow in June 2024.
