We celebrated Earth Day 2022 by looking at what we Can do to help save bees. and making wax food wraps and we celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubllee with ourvery own Tea Party. We also enjoyed the outdoors as much as possible when the weather was Bood, with visits to the beach, the park and an end of term BBQ at Carnfunnock with the Rainbows. Brownies. Rangers and families. Thanks to fundin8 from the National Lottery, Summer 2022 saw the return of our Annual Camp at Lome. for the fsrst time post Covid, when a large cohort of our girls spent a fun filled weekend completing Guiding Skill Builder activities. learn building activtties.. crafts- as well as a trip to Craigavon Watersports Cèntre where they participated in kayakin& banana boating, paddle boarding and the aquapark,. and the crate challenge and abseiling at Lornepa busy and rewarding weekend was had by alll Thanks to funding from the Public Health Authority. facilitat￿ by Northern Aiea Community Network, the girls completed activities promoting positive mental health whi¢h is especially pertinent in the aftemath of the Covid pandemic. This fijnding enabled us to run an artlpaintin8 workshop, ¢hill skills sessions, multisports & games sessions. hold a rollerdi5co and complete a Mental Health Matters challenge. A150, during our autumn term our unit participated in an Army Skills Day run by Girlguiding Ulster, where the gills learnt vital First Aid skills, surwval skills and skills for their futures. We also ran our own overnight trip where the gir15 completed crafts and took part in a self4Iefence workshop. The term finished with some Christmas Craft5 and a Chinese & Christma5 movie. Thanks to funding from the Education Authoritys small grant programme, we were able to purchase some cooking equipment which helped teach the girls vital life skills, cooking up dishes such as chicken curry & pasta Bolognese, and of course some pancakes in Februaryl The girls also completed their First Aid badge and enjoyed some crafts and games & dance evenings. During the spring terrn, the girls also took ovei WS. attending a fun day organi5ed & njn by Girlguiding Ulster in W5, Belfast. with girls from across the province, encouraging gir15 to explore the world of STEM activities further. Throughout the year, they participated in a District Thinking Day event in February, coming together with all the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides & Rangers in iarne District to take part in a session of DDMIX dance. based on a wide range of differenl dance styles. developed by Darcey BusselS. The leaders took part in training for First Aid, Child Protection and running unit activities throughout the year. The Guides were involved in the running and organisalion of activities throughout the year, as Girlguiding is a girl led organisation. There was no private benefit or harrn flowing from the charivs PLTrrposes.

Thls enables us to achieve our purposes and provide a benefit to the gir15 in the unit. A review of the Charfvs flnancial positlon at the end of the year The income for 5 Larne Guide Unit for thefinancial year ended 31 March 2023 was £15.134.40. Included in thls were grants from the Education Authority, the National Lottery Fund and donations from Amazon smile Fundraising. The expenditure for the year was £14,096.69. The unit were also in receipt of a grant from the Public Health Authority, which was facilitated and managed bythe Northem Area Community Network.
