**All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.** 

**The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.**

## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year** 

We’ve been continuing to follow the Guiding programme working on Unit Meeting Activities and the Have Adventures Skills Builders as well as interest badges. We had between 14 and 16 girls throughout the year. The girls enjoyed a visit from a dog expert and loved meeting her very patient dog. The girls enjoyed doing their Collection and Grow your own interest badges. They made a tent theatre in a shoe box, had a trash fashion show, danced in the rain with their umbrellas - we had to help this along a bit as it was a dry evening - as well as a ‘camp in an evening’. They learnt some first aid, enjoyed being robots, and learnt some map reading skills. WE ventured out and did the Portstewart Art trail. 

We had a coronation celebration as well as a special St. Patrick’s evening. We also helped the new girls to understand their promise, including the Legend of the Brownies and reminded the older girls about it too. There were also lots of making for Christmas, Easter and ‘just because…’ 

The Brownies had a great adventure at the Snores and summores camp at Lorne in June, enjoying lots of out door activities, climbing, archery, backwoods skills as well as the campfire and sleeping in pods. 

Four girls earned their Brownie Gold Award before they moved up to Guides in September.

## **A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year** 

There are no debts nor is there a reserves policy. 

Income for the year (2022/23) is £2165 expenditure is £2709 

## **Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit** 

There has been no material deficit at the end of the year
