A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
We’ve been continuing to follow the Guiding programme working on Unit Meeting Activities and Skills Builders as well as interest badges. We initially met outside due to Covid but the girls enjoyed doing their Mindfulness and Aviation badges in the courtyard. We did the Local History badge partially on zoom, making soda bread and 15s. Being outside also allowed us to become night sky observers. We also did zoom cooking for Christmas as well as our usual crafts.
After Christmas the girls did their Live Smart skillsbuilder and their Jobs interest badge when we had a paramedic, professional footballer and a civil engineer come in to talk to the girls. They also did their Charities interest badge, as part of this they raised money for the local animal refuge. Those that hadn’t already earned it did their Performing interest badge with parents enjoying the event.
A number of girls joined others across the county at the Beacon event for the Queen’s platinum Jubilee. We finished the year with a 2 night camp at Benone - crazy golf, paddling, sandcastle building, cooking outside and crafts and games.
