statement of Recommended Practlce applicable to charities preparing their financial statements In accordance with
the Financial Reportlng Stsndard appllcable In the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102}.
Tha Dlrectors, Report contalns the information rgquirèd to be provlded In the Directors, Annual Report under the
Statement of Recommanded Practice ISORP) guldellnes. The dlrectors of the company are also charlty trustees for
the purpose of charity law and undor the company's constitutlon are known as members of the board of trustees.
In thls report the dlrectors of Life and Tim8 present a summary of its purpose. governance, activitles, achievements
and finances for tho financial year 30 September 2024.
The company is a registered charity and h@nc6 the report and results are presented in a fonn which complles wlth the
requirements of the Companies Act 2006 and, although not obliged to comply wlth the Statement of Recommended
Practice applicabl8 in th6 UK and Republic of Ir61and FRS 102, the organisation has Implémented its
recommendations where relevant in these flnanclal statements.
Ravlew of Actlvlties, Achlovements and Performance
The Directors are pleased lo report that our seNice continues to be needed and has successfully expanded into the
Mournes area in 2024. From the commencam6nt of our servlce we have delivered up to and including 30th
September 2024 end of life care seNic6s to 283 patlents and their families over 2977 nights with 929 homo vlslts In
our three dislrfcts In the South Down aroa .
We have continu&d our strategy of publlc educatlon in palllative care and advanced care planning whlch is In Ilne with
HSC pollcy. We have provided presentatlons and opportunities for dlscussion at many community groups and have
more planned over the comlng year.
We have funded soveral professional development courses for siaff and other 8eNice providers in Ihe area. We
continue to support our nurses in achieving European Palliative Care Certiflcallon and Post Graduate part-time
courses at local Universities when desired.
Flnanclal Revlew
Our fundraising model has matured somewhat in that tha committee have not had to direclly raise any funds for some
time. Donations" In lieu of flowers" or "In memory of, are now the main sourG6 of Income whlch Is satlsfactory at
present.
The direclors hav6 dellvered on retention of a sultable reserve amounting to lat least) slx months running Costs, thus
allowing for expansion of services In Ihe Moumes area.
Flnanclal Results
At the end of the financial year the company has assets of £274,87612023 £275,887} and Ilablllties of £18,603
(2023 - £14,832). The net assats of the company have deoreased by £(4,782).
Prlnclpal Risks and Uncertalnties
The directors have considered the major rlsks to which the charity is exposed.

Future Developments
Llfe and Time intends to Gontinue its work in small community group settings. A standard format of tal￿ discussion
has been developed so it can bo delivered by any member of the committee. This was InterNpted by COVID but has
been reinstated.
Life and Time plans to contlnue provislon of its seNice withln the Warrenpolnt, Burren & Rostrovor IWBR),
Ralhfriland, Hllltown & Mayobridge IRHM) areas and Mournes area(MRNI, held public meetings and continued slaff
recruitment with a vlew to maintaining team numbers for natural staff leave and turnover.
We aim to Incr8ase awareness and provide education wlthln our communlly with regard to all aspecls of palliative and
end of life care through Ihe medlum of publio meellngs, soclal media and our website. Covld affect6d our ability to
dellver publlc education events however we have successfully re6ngaged with our communlties through these
mediums.

presented in Pound (£) which is also the functional currency of the cornpany.

The financial statements have bean prepared on the going concem basis under Ihe hlstorical Gost conv6ntion,

with the Statement of Recommended Practic8 ISORP} 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their
accounts In accordance with the Flnancial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland

arrangements and from performance related grants which have condltlons that specify the provlslon ol

recognlsed when the company Is legally entitled to the income because it is fulfilling tho conditions contained
In the related funding agreements. Where a grant is received in advance, Its recognition Is deferred and
Included in creditors. Where entltlement occurs before incom8 Is recelvad, It Is accrued in debtors.
Grants from governments and other co-funders typically include one of th8 followlng types of conditions:
Perfomiance based conditions: whereby the company is contractually entltled to funding only to the extent
that th& Core objectives of th8 grant agreement are achleved. Where the company is meeting the core
objecuves of a grant agre&m6nt, It recognlses the related expenditure, to the extent that it is relmbursable by
the donor, as income.
-Time based condillons: whereby the company is contractually entitled to funding on the condition that it Is
ulilised in a partlcular pellod. In thesè cases the company recognises the income to the extent it is utilised
wlthln the period specified In the agreement.
In the absence of such conditions, assuming Ihat r8c6lpt Is probabl& and the amount can be reliably
measured, grant Income is recognised once the company Is notified of entitlement.

All resources 6xpended are accounted for on an accruals basls. Charitable actlvitles include costs of s&rylces
and grants, support costs and depreclatlon on related assets. Costs of generating funds slmilarly include
fundraising activities. Non-staff costs not attrlbuted lo one category of acilvlty ar8 allocated or apportioned
pro-rata to *h6 staffing of the relevant setvice. Flnance, HR, IT and adminlstratlve staff costs are directly
attributable to Indlvidual activitles by objective. Gov&rnance costs are those assoclated wlth constitutlonal and
ststutory requirements.
Tangible flxed assets and depreciatlon
TangSble flxed 8ssets are slated at cost or at valuation, less accumulated d6pr@ciatlon. The charge to
depreciation is calculated to write off the original cost or valuatlon of tangible fixed assets. less their estlmated
