In this report the directors of Life and Time present a summary of its purpose, gov&manca, 8¢tivities, achievements
and finances for the financial year 30 Septèmber 2023.
The company is a registsred charity and hance the report and results ere presented in a fDrm which complies with Ihg

area in 2024. From the commencemant of our service we have d&liver8d up lo and Including 30th September 2023
end of life care s8rvices lo 149 patiènts and thelr families over 1,936 nights %thth 570 homè visits in cur iwo districls in
the South Down area .
We have continued our strategy of public education In palliative care and advanced care planning which Is In Ilne with
HSC pollcy. We have provided pres8ntation8 and opportunities for dlstyJ55i0n at many community groups and have
mora planned over the coming year.
We have funded sav8ral professional development courses for staff and other service providers in the area. We
continuo to support our nurses in achieving European Palliativ8 Care Certificallon and Post Graduate part-lime cours85
al local Univ8rsitie8 wh6n d8slrad.
Flnan¢ial Review
Our fundraising model has matured somewhat in that the Commltlee have not had lo directly raise any funds for some
time. Donatlon5" in lieu of flowers. or.in memory of arè n¢)W the main source of income which is 88tisfaclory at present.
Th8 dir&ctors have rjelivered cn retention of a Suitable amounting to {at least) six months running costs. thus

Life and Tlme intends to continue its worf( in small community group settings. A standard format of talkl disujsslon has
been developed so il can be delivered by any memb8r of thè committee. Thls was interrupted by COVID bul has slnce
be8n reinstated.
Life and Time plans to continue provlsion of ils servic8 wthin th8 Watrènpolnl Burren & Rostrevor IWBR} and
Rathfri1a￿J, Hilltown & Mayobridge IRHMI areas and has m@t with 8takehoklers In the Mournes area, held public
rlleetings and commencod recruitment of staff with a view lo expansion into that aTra In 2024.
We aim to increase awaren888 and provide education wlthln our wmmunity with regard to all aspecEs of palliatlve and
end of life Gare through Ihe medium ot public maètlngs, social medla and our website. Covid affected our ability to
deliver public education events how8verwe hav8 baen able lo reengage wilh our communities throwJh these mediums.
We are curTenlly rolllng out a new pilot for a new facet of th6 sèniice, Family Outreach Suppcirt, which will mean that
any family referred lo Life & Tlme, will have a limited nurnb8r of vigits from a L&T appointed Social Workerlcounsellor
to h81p support Ihern whilst a famlty member is being given End Df Llf8 Care.
