Plans for the future
This charity was set up with a view to build and/or secure long-term premises for Glenview Pre-School, thereby protecting its future.
COVID and funding setbacks have delayed the progression of our plans. Once the future premises have been agreed, the operational activity of Glenview Pre-School (currently under registration number NI659782) will come under this registration. The trustees have considered the Charity Commission NI guidance on public benefit. The benefit is summarised below:
The playgroup will advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and structured group play. The beneficiaries will be provided with targeted opportunities for development within the six areas of Learning under the Pre-School curriculum by qualified staff. The playgroups policy of inclusiveness aims to provide pre-school opportunities for children of all abilities and backgrounds helping each one of them to fulfil their potential. The playgroup has close links with the local primary school and aims to prepare children for entry to primary school by providing them with planned activities to develop core skills and through contact with the school and its staff. The benefit is evidenced by the continued demand for places in the playgroup (under the current registration), positive feedback from parents and continued good results from ETI and NHSCT inspections. There is no private benefit flowing from the purposes and there is no harm flowing from these purposes.
