Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Northern Ireland Somali Association I report on the accounts of the company for the )'ear ended 3110312022 which are set out on pages 3 to Respective responsibilitie5 of charity trustees and examiner As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) ?008 ("the Act"). It is my responsibilfftty to- examine the accounts under section 65 of the Act; follow the procedures laid down in the oeneral Direction5 given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Act- and state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of the independent examÉner'5 report I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under Section 65(9)(b) of the Act. The examination included a review of the accountincv records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consTderation of any unusual item or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you a5 charity trustees conceming any such matters. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination and confirni that no matter has come to my attention. which gives me cause to believe.. that accounting record5 were not kept as required by section 63 of the Act- that the accounts do not accord with those accountino records- that the accounts do not comply with the accountino requirements of the Act that there is fLUther infonnation needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Accounts for the comparative year ended 31 March 2021 were prepared on the accruals basis. Taxation The charity 15 exempt from t&x on its charitable activities. Fund accounting Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustee5. Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity- Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
