Chairperson’s Report 2021:
Nicky reported that due Government Covid 19 regulations regarding meetings having changed it is good to get back to normal monthly meetings.
Due to Covid 19 the school trips to the Somme did not take place.
The two NI Centenary exhibitions in Ballywalter and Ballyhalbert were a great success and good to be back arranging exhibitions which help raise awareness of the group. In April Mark Scott gave an excellent presentation on his book “the Great War”
We received a running cost grant from Ards & North Down Borough Council which allows us to pay for venue hire, storage facilities and insurance for the group and all the paperwork pertaining to the claim had been submitted via email.
Nicky reiterated that every member has a role to play within the group and thanked them for their dedication throughout the year. He also thanked the secretary, treasurer, and vice chair for their duties as office bearers.
