ObJectlves and actlvltles Oxford Unlted Stars Football Club are a community football club who has provided a footballln service to the people of Derry for over 60 years. As a cltywlde club the work our club now does In many communltles throughout Derry goes far beyond sport as we provlde a posltlve alternatlve to antl-soclal behavlour throu8h phy51cal actlvltles Including Sport and gym based fitness classes In many of the communltles wlthln Derry. We currently cater for over 300 members clty wlde throughout Derry. Our club Is fully Incluslve of all rell8lons, ethnlc mlnorlty and abilities. Throu8h our work to ensure that each memberfs clrcumstances, sexuallty and rellglous bellefs are respected We have contlnuously educated our club5 players to operate wlth an inclusive, open mlnd. The main benefit of the organslatlon Include Improved educatlonal outcomes, Increased cultural knowledge, Increase In soclal skills, Improvement In emotlonal health and well-beln8 and Increased splrltual development in the Ilves of chlldren, young people and adults across the clty of Derry. New formed frlendshlps and bonds is another beneflt that wlll last for a lonB time to come. These beneflts are demonstrated throu8h regular monitoring and evaluatlon from for each of our fundlng bodles. Achievements and Performance The programmes runnlng in the football club are weekly training practlce for all age groups, and weekend matches between local and national football clubs. Rlsk Management The members have assessed the major risks to which the organlsatlon Is exposed, In pa rticular those related to the operations and finances of the assoclatlon, a nd are satisfied that systems are in place to mltlgate the exposure to the major rlsks. Flnancial review The financial performancels summarlsed In the enclosed accounts. Members Responsibllities In Rèlation To The Flnanclal Statements The members are re5ponslble for preparlng the annual report and the financial Statements in accordance wlth appllcable law and Unlted Kingdom Generally Accepted Acounting Practlce. The law applicable to charitie5 in Northern Ireland requires the members to prepare the financlal statements that give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charlty at the end of the financial year and of its surplus or deficit for the flnanclal year. In doln8 SO the member5 are required to: select suitable accounting policies and apply them conslstently,. observe methods and prlnciples in the Charitie5 SORP; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; prepare the financial statements on the golng concern basis unless it is Inapproprlate to presume that the charity will continue in buslness. The members are responsible for maintaining proper accountlng records which disclose wlth reasonable accuracy at any time the financial positlon of the charlty and enables them to ensure that the financlal statements comply with the necessary leglslatlon.The members are also responsible for safeguarding the asset5 of the charlty and hence for takin8 reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other Irregularities.
