**Purposes:** The AIMS and OBJECTIVES of the Centre shall be to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Portaferry, and the surrounding neighbourhood, hereinafter called the area of benefit, without distinction of sex, or of political, religious or other opinions, to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and entertainment with the object of improving condition of health and well-being of the said inhabitants. Improve understanding and increase acceptance between different groups within the community. Maintain a financially sustainable organization that will remain active in the community for many years to come.
