protective equipment.
These actions will all be cNcial li) supponing our front-line duty nighi and pager ieam8. All of this will be underpinned
by inveslin&y in a new sta￿1n8 slruLlure, which will see us incr¢a%tngy our sta￿]ng, Icam from 3 to 5 colleagues, under the
Juidance of our new Chairn1an, Brian Og Mullaii, who will lake over Irom Ine iii October.
FSR volunteers have been providing supporl and enLouragemenl lo thousand% of people since 1993, makinby someone,.
day worthwhile. ¥iving hope. %lreiigth and courdge lo face another day, because they have siniply cared enough lo give
the m051 preLious resourcc in their live%. and the most treasured commodity in the world.. time.

major advan¢¢ in leLhnulog'y and would ¥r¢dily imprL)ve our 4Larch capal)ililie4.

mis5iiig? after eiileringi IhL water from the Craig¥avon bridgye. The team La￿led out sonar s¢arclies Ihroukyhout the night and

In receiil moiiihs, Ilie le¢lni has been shariijg advice witli Waierford Marine wl)o have now folluwed the fsAR example
and invested in multibeam leclmology. l-he leani have also beeii liaising with Lancashire lirc %erviLL who are looking al
sonar systems for their operalions. As well a% ihi.s, the team has been working haTd lo implemenl robust operating
proiedures with a full rel'ie￿. of their SOPS.

Over the pa%1 year, lh¢ Swilim'ater team hag Inade great strides in investing in our coniinuou% opeTational and
professional development and capabilities through training and undertaking and obtaining the relevani qualifications in
our field.
We have recently cornpleted the construction and fil-oul of our new dedicated Swifiwaier trziler whicli will be u8ed to
store 811 the STh'iftu'ater teani equipineiil that is needed in an emergency response and which will al%0 dLI as d coin]na]id
centrefftv poini at any incident. The new trailer ha4 been completed wilh ￿1]Y Stand alone electrics, dry wash area for
team inembers to use on a calloul and a mobile repeater %ystem to boost communieaiions within ourselves and other
emergency servi¢es in all areas.
202312024 OUTLOOK(Swift Water)
We will welcome 8 new members to the team this calendar year lo leave u5 with 16 Swiftwaler operattves in lolal on the
te￿ll. 4 of the team will be recertifying their ResLue 3 Europe SFR and SRT courses with 8 new team members also
undertaking these course.% along%ide their fellow volunteers.
We hopc to have thi% training completed by end ot- May. Once complete the team will have
16 fully operational and certified operatives made up of Flood first responders and Swiftwater rescue technicians.

HEAL TH & WELLBEJNG ( Sdndiii O Doliei"Iv)
Health and Wellbeing wiiliin tlie charity has grown over the years within Foyle Search and Rescue. Whilst continuingT Io
oversee duly nighi atiendanee, involvcment ivith opl'n nigh1% and inierview proces% during? the lasl iwo recruitment drives
and the managyemenl of volunteer liineouts, als(i organising> the monthly i'olunteer draw as well as wellbeing events.
RecnEitment kicked off last year with two intakes of i'olunteers. We had 6 ne￿1 recruits who started in February 2022
wilh a ￿rther 13 ivho joined us iii October 20?2, all iiow ha￿'e completed training and are doing their duly nighi%, plus
helping w'ill) fundraising. Wel¢ome to all of you. Thank you 10 all who helped with interviews, open nights and training,.
Lasi June, boih myself and Christina Mel with thi Bog%ide and Brandywell Health Forum with the view to partner up
with ihem OD some events. especially Ihe Dann}. Quigley .swim. which is coining¥ up shortly. Ai thai meeting we were
oifeTed lo avail of traunia trainingy and a follow up supervisory traintng. This was something thai we have beeii trying lo
do for a number of years for die volunteers and staff althe. The feedback from that was quite positive although some
thought the l-houi follow up wa%n'l cnough tinic lo really sJcl pcople to open up. I believe that tliis was down lo some
groups larger than we would have liked. We hope that this (raining will conlinue and volunteers will bcnefil from ii.
The firsi of the wellbeing events started off in June of last year afier the buckel appeal. To show our appreciation a night
was arranged for a Banquet and Bowls, for Ibose Ihal attended it ivas a good night's craic.
On the 21 sl of August we held our annual Summer Family fun Day. This is a great way to not only say thank our
volunteers bul also to our volunteers, families wlio give up their lan]ily lime. Therc were loads of games, bouncy castles,
rides and a barbeque plus a boat trip. The DoLphin% even LllIllC Out tu play Children aiid Adults alike had a really good
time. I myself enjoyed thL Dolphins so much that I Iiad several trips on the boal just lo see diem.

Unfortunately, we liad lo cancel the Halloween fun day due to lack of numbers: bui for those thai did have their kid'.$
names dowi a goodie bag was given instead.
On the l Oth of September we had a team building day al Jungle N.1. We took part in Laser tag and had bite to eat. A
really gyood fun day.
On the I I th of Deceniber we llad a visit from the big man himself. All Ihe children met with Santa had a photo taken and
received a selection box. The children enjoyed some arts and crafi5, had a paty and was given a meal.
Last but not least w¢ had our Christmas night out in the Waterfoot Hotel. We went back in lime to the 1920s and the
theme was casino night, I have to say L'veryone really Inad¢ an effort with Ihe costumes. We had a drinks reLeption 8
.%it-down meal, after wl)ich we Iiil the casino tables and a few prizes were given out to winners and 10seT.s alike. The
mutsi¢ was good that even Ihe cliairn]an hil the dance floor. A great fun filled night was had by ¢111 who aitcndcd.

diverge from EU UAS regyulalions follow'ing our departure from the F.uropean Union.
We've continued lo train aiid qualify remote pilots wilh new and enhanced skillN and qualifications, taking the GVC
licence count to three within the ieam, and we'll continue to build upon ihis during the year ahead.

We estimate that the coniing year will be challenging, siniilar to the year jusl passed, with Income potenlially falling it

To counler this trend, we plan to Irdnsfonn our fundraising tlirough invesling in a new role of Fundraisiiig Manager. Also
as tlie charitv grows both in nuinbers of voluiileers and coinplexity, we plaii to add an additional staff role of Volunteer
Manager. It is hoped lo have boih roles slaffed by Ilie ei)d of 2023.
The challeiigye for 2023_2024 be to develop new inLome streams, whlle 4usiainin8 our traditional 4tream8 of
collection boxes, bucket appeal and flag day5. However these are only 4u¥tainable with continued comrnilrnent frorn
volunteers. We have also planned a number of event¥ a550¢iated with our 30 year anniversary, culminating in a Gala Ball
al the end of September 2023.
We plan to conipleie ground work% at the ba4e, build a dry dock, replace two ol the four main boat engines, invest in the
very latest drone equipment.
