and stage of development
To assist young people in their personal and social development, so as to encourage growth in
self esteem and confidence, and help young people to learn from their experiences and cope
with positive and critical feedback
To help young people to participate in the life of the club, to express their views and play an
active part in their planning and management of their own activities
To help young people to gain a greater understanding and respect for their own traditions and
those of others, by engaging in programmes that reflect the principles of equality, diversity and
interdependence
To assist young people to become aware of their rights and responsibilities as active citizens

Achievements and performance
Young people have completed hours of volunteering. recognised by Volunteer Now. They have worked
with younger children in the club and developed their own awareness of working with others and
receiving positive and critical feedback. Some of our young people have been provided with the
opportunity to complete their OCN level 2 in youth work. As a result, their time spent in the club has
enabled the developmentof core skills and qualities that those young people can carry through wherever
their career leads. Young volunteers organise the indoor activities that take place weekly in the youth
club. This includes sports, group games, art activities and individual play activities.
We have a system of support stemming from our volunteers, to younger staff members, older staff
members and volunteer representatives, enabling our young people to express their views in
confidence. We have worked with local council to improve our local area. We have organised 'cleaning
the streets, nights whereby we clear the litter dropped on the streets. We encourage our young people
to speak their minds at every opportunity and to listen and try to understand the opinions and viewpoints
of others. We have provided numerous demonstrations on cooking, welfare of animals, sports etc. We
have worked with the PSNI and community safety projects. We constantly work as a committee to
ensure the safety development of our facilities.
Financial position
During the year we obtained £2,848 in grant income, generated sales from the shop of£6,187, received
membership fees of £1,238 and £350 from members for trips. The club had no other income and had a
deficit in the year of £16,384.
