## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year**

The Ranger re-started in September, some Rangers left to start University and two girls moved up from Guides. During the year, the unit completed various Unit Meeting Activities and Skills Builders against the six modules of our programme. As part of the programme, the Rangers have also completed promise activities, activities relating to International Day of the Girl and Parliament Week and have taken part in a Burns night receiving a Paw Print Burns badge. On some occasions, the Ranger joined with the Guides for 10 pin bowling at the Jet centre and also when we celebrated International Women’s Day in March. We also joined with the Guides for our Lorne Walk from the Church Hall over the two bridges of Coleraine back to the hall. This year we celebrated Thinking Day and reflected on the situation in Ukraine.

_Queen’s Guide Award_ - 2 Rangers continue to work on this award. They are both due to complete their ‘Lead Away Permit’. For their Community Project they organised a judo evening for the Guides, and on another evening they organised a visit from Women’s Aid and both Guides and Rangers were asked to donate items of toiletries to this charity. _Young Leaders Qualification_ - One Ranger continues to work on her Young Leadership qualification and 2 Rangers have completed their Young Leadership award this term.

_County_ – Through the County, 3 Rangers completed their Silver qualifying expedition and 3 other Rangers have completed their practice Gold expedition and will complete their qualifying expedition in July in the Mourne Mountains. The County also arranged a Thinking day postcard exchanged which our Rangers participated in.

There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.

## **A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance**

We confirm that all Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance.

## **A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year**

There are no debts nor is there a reserves policy.

The previous year’s income was £390.02 and expenditure £541.85. This year’s income was £355.70 and expenditure £393.78. Subscriptions received from members (£294) combined with fundraising (£60) less the cost of fundraising (£30) was slightly less than the amount required to cover the annual subscription payment required by Girlguiding UK (£352). Spending on badges combined with this difference contributed to a small overspend which resulted in a small reduction in balances at the year end compared with the opening balances. However the overspend for this year was significantly reduced compared with the previous year as overall spending was reduced. The second bank account was not affected and remains at £20.25.

**Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit**
