Naíonra an tSléibhe Dhuibh has provided another cohort of families totalling 24 families an early immersion playgroup experience which allows them the choice of opting for an Irish medium education route for their children We continue to provide employment for 3 full time Staff, and provide work placements for 2 local young people. We continue to provide a wraparound Service for young people and adults to return to education or work five days a week. The Service also allows parents, many of whom are young with little or no education, to return to education. We work closely with the local nursery and Primary School to ensure parents can avail of extracurricular clubs resulting in a universal drop off and pick up time. This means that parents aren’t tied to different pick up times if they have more than one child. This has proven to be key in allowing parents the opportunity to return to education or work. We have provided an opportunity for a young woman to step in and cover a maternity period for Leader, which is a key developmental opportunity for her career. We provided 5 workshops for parents. ## **Community** We continue to provide workshops for the parents on a wide range of areas, including, reading with your child, playing with your child, health and nutrition. We visit local amenities such as the library and the leisure centre. We use the local youth club every day of the year in an effort to promote the facility. We make use of and have partnerships with the local Bunscoil to enhance the parental and child engagement. We promote local organisations such as the Development trust, the resource centre and the Falls park ranger to develop pride and ownership in our community ## **Partnerships** We take immense pride in working closely with our sister organisation, Naíscoil an tSléibhe Dhuibh. We co-plan the year, the Curriculum, and the events, offering as wide and balanced a provision as possible. We also work closely with all of the non-statutory organisations in and around our locality. We work closely with Gaerlchúrsaí, an organisation that provides training for young people. We provide placements for their pupils. We are members of The Early Years organisation, and of ALTRAM (Irish medium early years support body) ## **Financial review** We are still very heavily reliant on funding, as asking for contributions is very difficult at this time of economic pressure. We remain intent on becoming a social economy, however, until there is an upturn in the overall economy, this will remain elusive. We remain in the debt of our parents and this community as it is their will that we remain open. We believe that the high value the community place our Service means that the communities rally to our cause. This year has been a challenging year with a defecit finish. ## **Income and expenditure** Overall, the Naíonra spends very little outside of wages. The generosity of others in terms of resources, and time, and the collaboration with the Naíscoil and the Bunscoil, result in a very efficient model locally of resourcing equipment, sharing of resources, and making the most of the local Services. We recieved £30,000. from The Pathway fund We employ 3 f/t Staff and they remain our top priority as without the Staff, the provision ends. To this end, the financial report is very short, our funding of £30k amounts to less than the required funding to keep open. The remaining amount comes from the diligence and hard work of the committee, the Staff and the parents who fundraise on a regular basis. The equipment and furniture within the Naíonra is estimated at £30k, albeit with considerable deprecation as our customers are ages 3 and take their toll on furniture. ## **Gifts** We accept gifts from parents and the local community, however these gifts amount to toys and games and time in terms of volounteering on excursions etc. We have no gifts to declare that have any real value ## **Risks** To the organisation, there is always a risk that we will not succeed in acquiring funding. We have a reserves policy that would offset such an occurrence. The other associated risks are to the people in and around us, and to the building itself. All of these are reviewed under our risk management policy through risk assessments by 2 officers who have attended relevant training ## **Financial management and reserves policies** The trustees are responsible, and receive termly reports on the financial management of the Naíonra. The Naíonra has 6 trustees. They are the legal owners of the building, and the legal trustees of the site. They also nominate onto the management committee. They are responsible for ensuring a high level of accountability. The day to day running of the Naíonra is entrusted in the Principal of the Bunscoil and Naíscoil, who is responsible to the management committee. This provides a network of local accountability and efficiency that helps the Naíonra in meeting its legal requirements.
