Mountnorris Parent Support Group Trustee's Report 2022 The Parents Support Group (PSG) held their Annual General Meeting on 28 April 2022. The following office bearers were elected.. Chairperson - Mrs Carla Johnston Secretary - Mrs Andrea Hamilton Treasurer - Mrs Karen Brown 2022 was very productive for the PSG as Covid restrictions eased and things began to return to normal. We were delighted to welcome our new Principal, Mr Michael Foster especially as he had lots of ideas of how the PSG could support the school. The Spanish lessons continued and finished in May 2022. The Port Bar, Mountnorris, kindly donated a giant Easter Egg which was used as the main prize for the Easter Raffle which raised £166.72. Each child also received a small chocolate egg supplied by the PSG. PSG provided water bottles and JD Hunters, Markethill supplied fruit for the children on sports day. We also ran the refreshment stall for the adults who attended, and it raised £165.72. In May 2022, the PSG presented Mr Foster with £500 towards sensory equipment for pupils. One of the highlights of the year was the Colour Run. Which was held in school grounds on the evening of 23 June 2022. It was such a lovely evening and was well supported by school families. The PSG supported the Colour Run by providing a BBQ, refreshments and snacks. We were delighted that we were supported by the following sponsors for the event:_ Dumfries Freight Hughes Foodhall, Camlough Pinkertons Robert Brown Tarmac JD Hunters. The PSG were delighted that the Colour Run raised £1,008. In June, the PSG gave each P7 pupil £10 as a leavers gift. The new school year brought more new ideas and in October, Mountnorris Primary School had it's 1st 'Break the Rules, day which the children particularly enjoyed and it raised £309.60

The return of the school Christmas play was a great night for the families and friends and this year a daytime performance was welcomed. The PSG provided a refreshment stall selling ice-creams, drinks and snacks. A Santa Run was held at the Glen on Saturday 10 December 2022. A BBQ, tea, coffee and snacks was provided and children were sponsored by friends and family to participate in the run. A hotdog was provided for each child who a returned sponsorship form. We were delighted that we were supported by the following sponsors for the event.. Hills of Markethill Hughes Foodhall of Camlough Pinkertons PSG member Gillian Mccrum kindly donated two vouchers for Smyths for the pupils who raised the most money. The refreshment stall and the Santa Run raised a fantastic £1 ,483.02 The PSG also purchased the school a new football net for the children to enjoy football. We also raised £99.05 from the shopping App 'Giving Machine, The PSG are also in the process of getting registered with HRMC in order to be able to claim Gift Aid on appropriate donations. 2022 was a great year for the school and PSG. The PSG are grateful for the support of school families and those who help the PSG run the fundraising events in order to support Mountnorris Primary School.
