Trusteesj Report for 2022
We rejoice that God has led us through another year of work and witness in
Knockbracken. We were delighted to install our new pastor Rev Peter Jemphrey
in June following a period of vacancy. We are also thankful for his diligence in
preaching each week the whole counsel of God in Sabbath services and
midweek meetings.
Knockbracken Refornied Presbyterian church is situated at the edge of a very
large residential area at the junction of Knockbracken Road and
Ballymaconaghy Road and opened its doors every Lord's Day to welcome
members, friends and visitors with services at I1.30am and 7.00pm.
Our Sabbath School held for instruction in the Word of God for our young
people and adult Bible Class have also been put on hold since the start of the
Covid epidemic in March 2020.
The calendar of midweek church events included meetings for bible study and
prayer, men's and ladies, bible studies, youth club events and missionary
meetings. Those who attend have been blessed by the face-to-face contact
following a relaxation of the covid epidemic restrictions.
The Session was constituted 9 times to deal with matters of rule and oversight
of the Congregation. Congregational visitation was put on hold this year.
The Comrnittee has continued to oversee the temporal needs of church
buildings, the manse and all matters financial. We continue to pray that God
would protect all the facilities on our site from vandalism.
The Mums and Tots met on Wednesday mornin8s from 10.30am to 12.00 during
the year.
We are gratsful to one of the members of our congregation who has faithfully
prepared and circulated monthly prayer topics, bringing to our attention many
matters for prayer in relation to subjects all around the world.
As we look forward into 2023, we pray that God would uphold His witness here
in Knockbracken and would add to our number Let us take confidence from
God's Word as we go. Psalm 40 tells us God has brought us out of a miry bog.
He has set our feet on a rock and put a song of praise in our mouth. Let us go
forward with this strength and assurance in 2023 knowing that through our faith
in Jesus Christ our Saviour, our feet are on that fimi foundation.
