In the event of the charity being wound up members will be required to contribute an amount not exceeding £1 each, The charity is under the control of the Trustees, The Trustee Board of Woodstock Reformed Presbyterian Church has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission of Northern Ireland's statutory guidance on public benefit to ensure that activities engaged in by the charity during the past year haiie helped to acliieve the charities purpose and provide benefit for those associated with the charity and the area in which the body is located. Mccullough Objectives The purpose of the Woodstock Reformed Presbyterian Church is to support and advance the Christian Faith through the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the Word of God, the Westminster Confession of Faith, Larger & Shorter Catechism and the'Book of Government and Order ofthe Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ireland. Activities & Achievements During 2024 weekly services for public worship took place each Sunday morning and evening. These meetings involved explanation and application of the Bible to a variety of aspects of life. These times of worship are open to the members and adherents of the group and also to the general public. The local community was made aware of these opportunities for understanding the message of the Bible through personal invitation by the members, banners on the church railings and also the church Facebook page.
Weekly midweek Bible studies took place throughout the year. In these those attending were taught the meaning and application of various Bible passages and their relevance to life in the world. Each week the church prays for the needs of those who attend and the needs of the cornmunity and the nation in general. Spiritual and emotional and practical support was given to those who regularly attend the church and the public offered help via the church Facebook page. During the past year the church served the community with a regular Friday Drop in welcoming people from all backgrounds, The church also served the local community by supplying second hand household items free of charge, The church sought to make contacts with people in the community through being out on the street inviting the community to the times of public worship. All who attend the church have received as appropriate pastoral support amidst the challenges of life. Financial Review The Trustees are thankful for the continued financial support received in the 2024 financial year. Total income received in the current financial year was £6602 1. £49403 was spent on charitable activities. In addition, a further £14690 was spent on renovation and repair costs in both the church building and the church manse. Reserves Policy The Trustees monitor their income and expeiiditure, to determine the level uf reseiTh'es needed to enable us to continue to meet our aims and objectives in future years. Public Benefit of the Charity Woodstock Reformed Presbyterian Church continues to benefit the church members, regular worshippers and community by sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is a life-transforming message. The regular weekly presentation of the Word of God continues to shape the lives of all who attend and equip them intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually to serve in society. All the public times of worship are open to and advertised to the community through our church noticeboard, internet information, and regular individual invitations being passed out on the street. All who attended the church receive the benefit of pastoral counsel as need arises. Only the minister receives private benefit from the charity by way of employment benefits as payment for full time gospel ministry. STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES for the year ended 31 December 2024 The trustees are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the trustees have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under charity law the trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of the charity and its financial activities for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to follow best practice and: select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; state whether the Charities SORP (effective January 2015) in accordance with FRS 102 has been followed: prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees confirm that they have complied with the above requirements in preparing the financial statements. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose, with reasonable accuracy, at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with applicable law. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps ior the preiiLJntion and detpction of fraud and other irregularities. _ On behalf of the Board Date: 5th March 2024
