A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year

20 Girls were part of the unit from January to June 2025. From September to December 2025, 17 girls were members of the unit. Three additional volunteers have recently joined the unit, this enabled us to enrol more Brownies, we currently still have three Brownie spaces remaining.

Throughout 2025, the 2” Moira Brownie Unit met weekly (term time) in St John’s Parish Centre in Moira. The first theme was “Skills for My Future”. We did a “Language” interest badge when we had a French bakery evening. Our Skill Builder Badge was “Live Smart” and this included DIY skills, Science, Transport and travel topics. During the term we also celebrated St Patricks Day and Chinese New Year, we also marked Mother's day and Easter. In March we had a Saturday day trip to Girlguiding Ulster at Lorne Estate where the girls had some adventure time doing the crate challenge and doing some badge work.

In May we had our annual Brownie Pack Holiday, staying in Gosford Guide House for a Harry Potter themed weekend away. We ran a whole range of activities and made full use of the facilities on offer at the guide house. On the Saturday afternoon we explored Gosford Forest Park.

The Brownie 2024-25 year was rounded off at the end of May with our annual prize night, when the girls were given their badges and rewarded for all their achievements. Seven of our final year girls earned their Brownie Gold Award, which is the highest achievement possible within Brownies. Of the first- and second-year Brownies, five earned their Silver Award and eight their Bronze.

The new Brownie year started in September 2025. Three girls moved up to the 1* Moira Guide Unit. Six girls joined the 2 Moira Brownie Unit, all of whom moved up from Rainbows or from other Brownie Units. New Brownies who joined, made their Promise in Moira Demesne before receiving their Promise Badges.

During the autumn/winter term there was a wide variety of badge work undertaken. The theme for the term was “Take Action”. This covered a wide range of topics including Brownie Detectives, innovations, pets and animals. The Skill Builder badge we did, covered how girls can seek to “Influence others” to improve the world around us. Our interest badge for the term was “Animal Helpers”, which included a visit from a local Guide Dogs representative and her dog. Remembrance Day was marked by a parade and service at St John’s Parish Church; the unit also attended a carol service and had a Christmas Party in December. Before the Christmas break the girls and leaders went to see The Pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which was held in The Lagan Valley Island Theatre in Lisburn.

There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.
