Taekwon-Do N.I. Mission Statement and Aims.
As a sporting organisation, we promote equality at every level within society, bringing communities together in a safe and trusted environment. We have no political, racial, religion or creed agenda and our main objective is to give opportunity to ever participant in this Korean Martial art to increase their well-being, self-esteem and create a pathway for sporting prowess. As an organisation we have members from all communities across Northern Ireland with a membership which include Polish, Pilipino, Travelling, Chinese and cross community.
Annual Monitoring Report.
After a very successful Northern Ireland I.T.F. Open Taekwon-Do National Championships held on the 25[th] of September 2022 in the National Badminton Centre Lisburn and an outstanding success for the Northern Ireland National Team at the WITC World Championships held in Edinburgh in November 2022. The thirteenmember Northern Ireland National Team who attended the World Championships in Scotland, returned with forty-nine medals in total and eleven new World Champions.
We were therefore delighted to announce that Northern Ireland was invited by the WITC Committee, to host the European I.T.F. Open Taekwon-Do Championships over the 24[th] and 25[th] of June 2023. This major sporting event allowed us to showcase the standard of Taekwon-Do in Northern Ireland, by attracting competitors from across Europe.
Leo Maguire, as the Northern Ireland National Coach and President of Northern Ireland ITF, has brought the N.I. National Team to victory at both National, European and World levels. This level of expertise is now being passed on to the group’s current students as the fully qualified instructors are dedicated to encouraging each child to achieve his or her full potential. Taekwon-Do has become the fastest growing Martial Art in Northern Ireland.
