For the year under review, the members of the committee were:
Chair: Christina Black
Secretary: Louise Richardson
Treasurer: Lynsey Cummings
Committee Members: Claire Black, Donna Moffett, Louise McKenna, Ryan Emberson, Christine Watt and Tammie Rainey.
The management committee members worked collaboratively throughout the year to ensure the smooth running of the playgroup.
Objectives and Activities
The primary objective of Newmills Playgroup is to provide high-quality care and educational experiences for preschool children. The playgroup aims to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive in their early years, helping to prepare them for school life and beyond.
The playgroup is funded through a combination of parental donations, fundraising events, and support from various governmental grants, particularly from the Southern Education & Library Board and DAERA.
Achievements and Performance
During the year, the playgroup successfully operated in line with its objectives, providing consistent care for the children enrolled. Fundraising efforts, including donations and events, helped maintain financial stability, and the receipt of grants allowed the group to improve its resources and facilities for the benefit of the children.
This year playgroup replaced flooring, painted inside of the building, repair work to outside of the building and started work to update and improve our outside area. We also upgraded resources and materials for the children.
