Club Down (Cumann an Duin) INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF CLUB DOWN (CUMANN AN DUIN) We have examined the financial statements of the charity for the financial year ended 31 October 2022, which comprise thè Statemenl of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet and the related notes. This report is made solely to the Gharity's members, as a body, in accordance with the Charities Act INorthem Ireland) 2008. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the financial statements that we have been engaged lo compile, report to the Board of Trustees that we have done so, and state those matters that we have agreed to state to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest èxtent pem)itted by law, w8 do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the chanty's mèmbers, as a body, for our work, or for this report. Rèspective responslbllltles of tru8t8es and examlner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of Ihe Charities Act (Northern Ireland} 2008. The charity's trust8es consider that an audit is not required for this financial year under the Charities Act {Northem Ireland) 2008 and that an independent examination is required. The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities and financial posilion of the charity as at the financial year end date and of the surplus or deficit of the charity and otherwise comply with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. The registered office of the company is Old Gaswo￿8 Business Park, Newry, Co.Down, BT34 2DH, Northem Ireland which is also the principal place of business of th8 charity. The financial statements have been presented in Pound Sterling (£} which is also the functional currency of the charity. SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES Tha following accounting policies have been applied consistantly in dealing with items whlch ar6 considered material in relation to the charity's financial statements. Basls of preparatlon The financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis under the historical cost convention, modified to includé certain items at fair value. The financial ststements have been prepar8d in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charitie$ preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102" applying Section 1 A of that Standard. As pennitted by the Companies Act 2006, th6 charity has varied th8 standard formats In that act for the Statement of Financial Activities and the BalanGe Sheat. Departures from thè standard formats are lo comply with tho r8quirements of the Charities SORP and are in Gompliancè with section 4.7, 10.6 and 15.2 of that SORP. Statement of compliance The finanGial statements of the charity for the financial year ended 31 December 2017 have been prèparéd on the going concern basis and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice {SORPI "Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102" applying Section 1A of that Standard. General funds represent amounts which are expendable at the discretion of the board, in furtherance of the objectives of the charity. Designated funds comprise Ljnrestricted funds that tho board has, at Its discretion, set aside for particular purposas. These designations have an administrative purpose only, and do not legally restrict the board's discretion to apply the fund.

Income from charitable activltles Income from charitable activities includé income eamed from the supply of Se￿IceS under contractual arrangemènts and from performanca rèlated grants which have conditions that specify the provision of particular s&rvices to bè provided by the charity. Income from government and other co-funders is recognised when the charity is legally entit18d to thè income because it is fulfilling the conditions contained in the related funding agrèements. Wheré a grant is received in advance, its recognition is deferred and included in creditors. Where entillament occurs bèforè income is received. it IS 8ccrued in debtors. Grants from governments and other ¢o-fund8rs typically include one of the following types of conditions.. Performance based conditions.. whereby th6 charity is conlraclually entitled to funding only to tho exlenl that the core obj8Ctives of the grant agreement ar8 achieved. Where the charity is meeting the core objectives of a grant agreement, it recognises the related expenditure, to the extent that il is reimbursable by the donor, as income. -Time based conditions: whereby the charity is contractually entitled to funding on th8 condition that 11 Is ulilised in a particular period. In these cases the charity recognises the income to the ext8nl it is utilised within the period specified in the agreement. In the absence of such conditions, assuming that receipt is probable and the amount can ba reliably measured, grant income is recognised once the charity is notified of entitlement. Grants received towards capital expenditure are credited to the Statement of Flnancial Activities when received or receivable, whichever is earlier. Expendlture Expenditure is analysed be￿een costs of charitable activities and raising funds. The costs of each activity are separately accumulated and disclosed, and analysed according to their major components. Expènditure is recognised when a legal or constructive obligation exists as a result of a past event, a transfer of economi¢ benefits is required in selllement and the amount of the obligation can be roliably measured. Support costs are those functions that assist the work of the charity but cannot be attributed lo one activity. Such costs are allocated to activities in proportion to staff lime spent or other suitable m8asur8 for 8ach aclivily. D8btors Debtors are recognised at the settlement 8moLJnl due after any discount offered. Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid net of any trade discounts due. Income recognised by the charity from government agencies and other co-funders, but not yet received at financial year end, is included in debtors. Cash at bank and In hand Cash at bank and in hand comprfses cash on deposit at banks requiring less than three months notice of withdrawal. Taxatlon and deferred taxatlon No currant or deferred laxalion arlses as the charity has been granted charitable exemption. Irrecoverable valued addad tax is expensed as incurred. Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not r8v8rsed at the balance sheet dale where Ir8nsadions or events have occurred al that date that will result in an obligation to pay more tax in the future, or a right lo pay less lax in the future. Timing differoncas are temporary differences be￿een the company's taxable profits and its results as staled in the financial statements. Deferred lax is measured on an undiscounted basis at the lax rates that are anticipated to apply in the periods in which the liming differences are expected lo reverse, based on tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. 10
