6th Fermanagh Scout Group Report 22-23

Members: Beavers - 20 Cubs - 39 Scouts - 21 Scouters - 18

Programme

All sections participated in the Air badge adventure skills program between September and December, with beavers achieving stage 1,Cubs stage 2 and Scouts stage 3. Beavers went on a bat hunt at Necarne.

All sections did Halloween and Christmas activities, and had Christmas parties.

From January to April, all sections completed a program on the Emergency adventure skill, with beavers achieving stage 1,Cubs stage 2 and Scouts stage 3. Part of the programme included tuition from First Aid 4 Kids, and the Beavers/Cubs were visited by the PSNI and Fire Service.

Christmas

Beavers made gifts for residents of Lowtherstown Court and visited them to entertain with Christmas carols and dancing.

We brought the Peace Light to our community for Christmas Masses.

Camps/overnighters/trips:

Ice-skating trip - Share Centre, Dec

Beavers & Cubs visited City of Derry Airport, Jan

Scouts had a trip to Belfast and visited We Are Vertigo.

Scouts participated in the ‘Survival weekend’.

Cubs and Scouts camp - Crawfordsburn

Fundraising

We completed our annual Christmas Collection of food for those in need, and donated a car load of food to the food bank at Christmas.

We also facilitated a pumpkin carving competition in our community, opening up participation to non-Scouts.

County Events

We participated in all county events, including the Cubs county quiz, Beavers/Cubs hike at Florencecourt, Scout hike, Camps at Castle Archdale.
