6th Fermanagh Scout Group Report 21-22
Members: Beavers - 20 Cubs - 20 Scouts - 20 Scouters - 16 Associate Members - 1
Programme
We did a 6 week project with Blue Green Yonder in the summer, with all sections participating, doing canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. It was very enjoyable.
Beavers and Cubs enjoyed a day of activities at the Share Centre in August, meeting other Scouts from the Erne County. Scouts also joined the younger youth members for dinner, before travelling by boat to an island to camp.
Scouts also did a few weeks of fishing at Meadowbank.
6th Fermanagh adopted a whole-group approach to delivering a programme of adventure skills this Scouting year. All sections participated in the Backwoods adventure skills program between September and December, with beavers achieving stage 1,Cubs stage 2 and Scouts stage 3.
From January to April, all sections completed a program on the Hillwalking adventure skill, with beavers achieving stage 1,Cubs stage 2 and Scouts stage 3.
All sections enjoyed a day of activities at the Share Centre in April.
From April to June all sections completed a program on the Pioneering adventure skill, with beavers achieving stage 1, Cubs stage 2 and Scouts stage 3.
All sections participated in another paddling program in June/July, for 6 weeks, culminating in a pizza and paddling party at Broadmeadow for all our youth members and Scouters.
Christmas
Beavers made gifts for residents of Lowtherstown Court (a residential care home).
All youth members visited the Share Centre for Ice skating .
Camps/overnighters:
Beavers enjoyed a Christmas overnighter in the hall.
Cubs and Scouts spent a weekend at Cladagh Glen in December, participating in various bushcraft and campcraft activities.
All sections joined the County for a Darkness into Light hike and camp in April at Castle Archdale Country Park.
Scouts camped for a weekend on a remote island on Lough Erne.
Beavers and Cubs camped in Castle Archdale in June, finishing with a BBQ for all their families.
Scouts went to Duncrun Campsite on the North Coast for 3 days, where they enjoyed surfing on Benone Beach amongst many other activities.
