There are 22 Rainbow Units, 24 Brownie Units, 19 Guide Units and 12 Ranger Units which are made up of 1158 girls and 273 leaders. The County is well under recovery from Covid despite the fact numbers are slightly down. Meetings for County Executive included three zoom and one face to face. This year we were able to enjoy face to face activities. This included a Girlguiding Cinema Event where we had 200 attending. Our Annual General Meeting saw 70 Leaders in attendance and a total of 28 awards were given out. We are very proud of the great commitment that these ladies have given to Girlguiding North Down County. It was fantastic to host a Leaders overnight where 32 leaders stayed and were able to refresh their skills and complete some training. In March we held a Brownie Fun Day where 14 units took part. 200 girls and 60 Leaders attended. In April we held a Rainbow Fun Day where 96 Rainbows and 22 Leaders attended. Our County activities for the year ended with the re-introduction of our Ewing Johnson Challenge. At this 7 Guide Units competed against each other completing challenges involving outdoor cooking and activities based on Ancient Egypt. The winning Team received a shield. Along side this the Units in the County enjoyed many fun activities, completed programme badges and went on residentials. Many of our Leaders attended online training via Zoom. This was to complete mandatory training which enabled the Units to be compliant with Safe Space level 1, 2, 3 (Child Protection) and First A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commlssion's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance We confirm that all Charity Trusties of Girlguiding North Down County are aware that they are legally obligated to have regard to the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance.
