Structure, Governance and Management The PartnershSp Is registered wlth the Charlty Commlsslon for Northern Ireland - No. NIC106126, It th operates under a Constitution adopted on 27 March 2007, as subsequently amended. Membershlp is open to Indivldual Members, Afflliated Members (organisations wlthln the Area of beneflt in Malawi there are no such members at present) and Assoclate Members Ithere are no such members at present), The Associatlon and its property are administered and managed by a Management Commlttee. Objectlves and A¢tlvltles The Associatlon Is established to relleve poverty and sickness, to support the Chrlstlan eth05 of the hospltal and to promote the preservation of health of the Inhabltants of the catchment area of the hospltal and health centres as defined by the David Gordon Memorlal Hospital {"DGMH ), Llvlngstonia in Malawl Iherelnafter called the "area of benefit") wlthout distinctlon on any of the grounds set out In the Constitutlon, by as50clating the statutory authorlties, communlty and voluntary organlsatlons and the inhabitar)ts in a common effort to advance health and wellbelng with the object of Improving the conditions of life for the sald Inhabitants. Achlevements and Performance l. The maln activlty of the Partnership Is ralslng funds to support the work of the Hospltal. This was done as set out in the Financial Statements. 2. Durlng the year the Partnership recelved various donations, Includlng In Ileu of flowers followlng the passing of a supporter. It also facllitated a donatlon towards the purchase of bed-jlnen for the paediatrlc ward. 3. The Partnership has had ongolng discus51ons with other bodles in Northern Ireland and further afleld as to howwe can best co-ordinate our support for DGMH. *h 4. On 15 June 2022, LHP held its AGM in a hybrld format, via Zoom and In person In Dunmurry Presbyterlan Church. Staff from DGMH reported on the work of the hospltal, and answered questions from those present. Scott Moore (Chalr) and Charles Shepherd {Treasurer) brought reports. Mr John Davln presided over the electSon of new Commlttee. Ih 5. On 10 September 2022, the LHP Committee held an In-person rneeting whlch staff from DGMH Joined vla Zoom. Susan Mccartney {a daughter of existlng commlttee member Una Brownlle, and who was born in Llvlngstonia) was co-opted onto the Committee. 6. At that meeting, Team DGMH informed the LHP Committee of a cholera outbreak In Malawi. After obtalnlng confirmatlon from DGMH as to what their greatest need was, the LHP Commlttee sent a donatlon of £3000.00 from reserves, and made our supporters aware of the position. 7. LHP has contlnued to 5UPPOrt Penjnal SlchinBa in his medlcal studies. He hope5 to start working in DGMH full-time in March 2024. One of our supporters donated a diagnostic set

and Llttmann stethoscope, whlch were sent to hlm. We also processed è donatlon for the purchase of an arcllght ophthalmoscope-otoscope, whlch our Chalr dellvered to him. We sent him the cost of a tracheostomy set and tracheostomy care set from Partnership funds 8. LHP recelved an expression of Interest from a medlcal student at Imperlal College London, In relatlon to spending an internship In DGMH. Thls took place in Spring 2023. 9. On 21" March 2023, LHP were advlsed that a separate Medical Board for DGMH had been set up by the Church of Central Afrlca Presbyterlan. Arrangements are belng made to have a Zoom meetlng between the Board and the LHP Commlttee. 10. The Commlttee are arranglng to submlt an artlcle to the Presbyterian Herald about the work of the Partnership. We hope that thls may lead to invltatlons to speak at PW groups, misslon cornmittees etc. Publlc Beneflt Statement The direct beneflts flowlng from the organisatlon's purposes are as follows: . l. There will be Improved health outcomes and improved medlcal treatment due to enhan￿d facllities and equipment. 2. Service wlll be provlded by volunteers, there wlll be publlclty for the work of the hospital following the return of the volunteers to their home countrles, and medical experlence wlll be galned by volunteers durlng thelr servlce. 3. There wlll be Increased 5UPPOrt and donatlons for the h05pltal, both In Malawl and Northern Ireland. 4. The advancement of rellglon. Increased support In Northern Ireland for the work of the hospltal. Support for the Chrlstlan ethos of the hospital wlll result in encouragement to people in Malawl from the knowledge that they are belng prayed for. The beneflts can be demonstrated through regular reports from the hospltal. The purposes of our charlty may lead to the followlng harm: _ l. In providing medlcal treatment for patlent5 there is a risk of unintended slde effects from the drugs however thls is rare and the benefit outweighs the harm. We can show that thls harm Is outweighed by the benefits through supervision bytralned medlcal staff. 2. Rlsk of disease or In]ury to volunteers. We can show that this harm Is outwelghed by the benefits through tralnlng volunteers to avold dlsease or Injury, and provision of protective equlpment such as mosquito nets. The charlty's beneflclarles are the inhabitants of the catchment area of the hospltal and health centres as defined by the David Gordon Memorial Hospital, Llvlngstonla in Malawl. There Is no private benefit flowlng from the purpose.
