These liave included school children and young people. Our concert series provides a platform for new and experimental music and sound art, allowing participating arlisis to road-test new ideas aiid develop existing pieces. The series provides a space for creative exploration and risk-taking witli a view to developing and presenting high-quality imaginative and innovative work. We have altempled to prograinme a diverse series of music and sound-based events, each with a distinct identity and appealing to a slightly different audience segment. The intention is to attract a broad audience with overlapping interests ranging from contemporary art, iinprovisation, new music and electronica. Coiitemporary music is rather more established in Belfast and we believe tliat much is to be gained froIn developing links between Derry and Beifasl to help streiigtheii both the sector, by catering for a small but curious audience, as well as providing tliese artists with much-nceded exposure and perforlnance opportunities. Plans for the future We plan to present a furtlier series of concerts in Derry and Belfast in late 2023 and early 2024. Th¢y will foaturc Northern Irish and visiting artists from a rang¢ of disGiplines, Including improvised music, sound art, live art and electronic music. Tliese artists have been cliosen for their unique aesthetic voice, the high staiidard of tlieir artistic abilities and the higli quality of the work they producc. Each concert in the series forcgrounds risk, experimcntation and imagination and seeks to present inspiring work that would not otherwise be availablc for local audienccs to cxperience. Tlie success of tliis series of events, highliglits the need for aiid level of public interest in experimental musi iii Nortliem Ireland, particularly iii tlie north west region. We are gradually building a dedicated audience and plaii to coiitinue to support experimental Inusic artists, locally, regionally and nationally. We have applied for substantial project funding froin the Arts Council of Nortliern Ireland to allow us to continue presentiiig music projects and to allow us to grow the reach of our activities in Derry and further afield. Dlrectors responsibilities The dircctors ofNortliern Liglits Project Ltd for the purposes of company law are responsible for preparing the Directors, Annual Report and the financial stalements in accordance wilh applicable law and United Kii)gdoin Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). Accountlng policics The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and liave remained unchanged from the previous year, and also liave beeii consistently applied within tlic same accounts. 1.2.
