The Community Association is a Limited Company. governed by its Articles of Association.
The Trustees have had regard to the Public Benefit Requirement statutory guidance.
The Association promoted activities for the benefit of the residents of Bright and the
surrounding neighbourhood without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, race. political,
religious or other opinions. It maintains and manages the Community Centre to provide
recreational facilities, the aim of which is to improve the health and wellbeing of its users.
The deficit of expenditure over income for the year was £478. The Trustees are satisfied with
the progress made in the year.
The Community Association had a successful year during which it was able to provide a
modern centre for the use of various local groupings. After the retirement through ill health.
of the person who acted as caretaker for the premises. the Trustees shared the responsibility
for opening and cleaning until a suitable person was found to take on the role.
The use of the Community Centre by various groups has expanded from the previous year.
We were very happy to see the facilities used by various charitable organisations to raise
funds for their different causes.
One particularly noteworthy charity was Operation Romania which made use of the hall
throughout the winter and spring to raise money to fund the purchase of materials to help
refurbish an orphanage in Romania. A group of tradesmen from the area volunteered to
travel to Romania in July to carry out this work
The Centre was also used this year by the local farming community for a training programme
and we would hope to see this repeated next year.
