Charitable Purpose
The Association is established to: 2.1 relieve poverty, sickness and the aged and to promote
the benefit of the inhabitants of the Stewartstown and district area of Co Tyrone and its
environs (hereinafter described as "the area of benefiy ) without distinction of age, gender,
race, political. religious or other opinion. by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary
organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education. and to provide
facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation,
with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants;
Objectives
SCG was established to act as a voice forthe residents of the village and to provide community
activities for residents. The group has over the years run events, trips, community fun days,
Wednesday Club for older people, environmental improvements in the village, etc.
Achievements and Performance
Throughout the year SCG provided the following:
Trip to Splash in Moneymore including refreshments.
Summer Community Fun Day
Village and District Trip to Antrim Coast followed by a meal in the Londonderry Arms,
Carnlough.
Christmas dinners for senior citizens sponsored by Eamon Laverty & family and
McAleer & Rushe.
Provided sweets at the Christmas tree, carol singing and Santa event.
Group volunteers joined other groups in the town to help put up the Christmas tree
lights and decorations around the village.
Attended annual Estate Inspections and Inter Agency and Housing Community
Network meetings with statutory agencies to lobby for improvements to our village,
such as road improvements, grounds maintenance issues, housing issues, etc.
The Trustees have had due regard to the Commission's Public Benefit requirement and no
harm was caused in the provision of above activities.
Financlal Revlew
Much of the spend for the year 23124 was as a result of a grant from Mid Ulster District
Council. The charity will continue to explore local fundraising initiatives to as well as
continuing to seek external funding where appropriate. All income is used for the charitable
purposes as outlined within this report.
