Writing project which iEtvolved St. Marys College aftd the primary schools in the area. The Library aiJwb5 10
provide a lifelong love for reading. Thc 5trtt15 of Ballymagtoarty ate llamed Iteland's literary oiants and
images and qu(A￿lonS from the likes of James Jo￿¢. GB Shaw and Sean ofasey have been loc￿ed
throughout the estate.
The CoJnJnunity Centre 15 holne to ihe Ballymagroany Youth Club which provide5 service on 5 evening¥ per
week alono with an after-￿hoOlS programme on two aftcrnoons weekly. The Certtre is also offers many
2Ctivi¢ies for residenis of all ages during the day like the Men's Group on Monday5, the COSY Club on
Tuesdays. the STay & Play group on WedT]e5days. the Wolnen's GN)up and Scwit]o Group on Thursdays and the
Posilive Older People (POP Group) on Fridays. YO￿ and arts cl&sses on Saturday5.
BHCP provides l￿-￿h(x)I suppon to siudenis a( St Marys College to provide mechanisms io ensure ihe mosi
disengaged pupils rcceive the support they nccd to reach iheir w)ieniial. The programme is called SMILE - S(.

OW Community Educdlion - BHCP had been liaising with the NWRC and other trdining agencies 10 ensure
thai the community educaiion programme is delivered succe4sfully within the Ouier West NRA. and that all

New Build project ut Ringfort Road- DCSDC provided funding for a Design Team who engaged wilh BHCP in
d¢v¢loping ihc de5ign5. Two consultalion 5C5SiOt15 w¢r¢ hcld io engage rEsidents in the consultst￿ve design for
Ihe new faLility. Planntng was approyed in October 2020 and the decision was thken to proceed with ihe
construciion BHCP kTng the only ienant. The WHscf were unable io commit lo engaging with ihe
project any further. The projecl is ￿ the tendering slage and alm051 ready to start. Howcvcr, the schcffje hus
been sthlled due to the Dept. for Communities n￿￿ having an ag[￿￿ budget for the year. This c￿ll0( be
completrd whilst theN JI Executive is place.
Pitch & Play - These new facililies opened up a range of exciung oppoi1uniTies for BHCP to engage wilh ihe
community in a morc nraningful manncr. Thc pitch gcncratcs rEv¢nue for BHCP whilst pmvidin8 an excellent
fdLilfftty for community use - CouncA] have advised thai li is the bu5ie51 of dll (he pitches in the City. Thc play
park has flourished since it opened and is a tremendous assec for ihe communiiy. li also provideq an accessible
venue for BHCP iniiiatiyes like the Summer Scheme. Family Spon5 Day and Mini Fund Day. The Cen(re i(self
had also bcen tr3nsforTned into a Halk)w¢'cn Haunl¢d House and a Winter Wonderland at Christmas.

Reslrictions We￿ reduced incrementally which allowed BHCP and arrange s￿1￿1 gatherings and these
have been insirnmental in helping the communiiy io reiurn io some modicum of norwnality. Nonethele48,
observatjOll5 reveal thai hesiiancy still remains. particularfy among the older population. Wilh ihis in mind,
BHCP re-iT]vented its active ageing prograM￿e to the POP Grtjup {P051tive Older People). This allows ￿Ople
to embrace and celebrn* their age and place within the comtnunily.
Financial review
The reserves policy of ihe ¢h4rtiy is lo have wffi¢ien¢ reserves ￿ CO￿ with iemporery shortfalls.

Total incoming funds in the current year shows a 5.7% increase from the previous y￿. Total expendi[U￿ in
the curreni year also incre&sed by 1.5% from the previ￿5 year.
The iotat funds available at the yearend were £53.442. this 15 equiv31enl lo approximately 2 months operaliona]
costs. The restricted TeseNe of £12,037 is attributed to capithl s￿nd relating to the kiichen programme and
new compuier equipment. Th¢ unrestricied r¢s¢rv¢ of £41.405 is made up of £30.685 of reserves brought
fotw&)rd, the baIance of £10,720 related to other incorne Spent in the financial yeur.
