Carrowdore Early Years & Community Developmenl Centre LearniThJ through play and exploration Chairpersons Report for Annual General meetiNJ 25th November 2024 7pm It has been a challengiw year for all involved at Carrowdore Early Years. We are movin9 through these challenges, and it has made our team stronger than ever. This year we started with 18 preschool children which has now increased in numbers to 19. Our af terschool's service is running steadily with about 60 children enrolled, and we have just begun prepre with 5 in attendance on a Monday ¢]nd Tuesday. The centre has plans to run various progrt]mmes during the year through Getting ready to learn which will inclLKle Big bedtime read, ages and stages. healthy happy kids and education works. These pro9rams are funded through education authority and are designed to encourage parental engagement in all areas of the preschool curriculum. The management team have put new policies and procedures in place around staf f in9, disciplinary, f inances, fees and invoices and f raud in conjunction with Early Years the organisation, and are workin9 hard to ensure that the centre runs as smoothly as possible in the back9round. It has been a learniNJ process f or us all. but the committee has taken it in their stride. The centre has received incredible SUPPOrt through Rebecca Roe at Carrowdore Primary School. Nikki our link social worker, Laureen Moore a previously deputy manager of the centre and Early Years the organisation. I would just like to thank them all f or answering my never-endiry questions and being my sounding board for ideasl I would also like to thank Stacey and Carla for stepping up to management role and f or completing the paperwork and training that is involved with it! To all of our staff for stepping up •]nd making the chaThJes f or the good of the chi Idren and the centre. Finally, to the mcv)agement committee of Zoe and Olive. who have taken the calls <Md texts at all hours of the days, have helped in the background and supported me and the staff 100 percent- th(nk you for everythiNJ you have done, the centre wouldn't be able to f unction without all the work in the background.
