Strurture
Trustees present their report and the unaudited financial statements of the charity for the year
ended 31 December 2018.
Reference and Administrative Information
The name of the charity's trustees at the date this report was approved are listed on page l.
together with the address of the principal office of the charity and the charity's registration
numbers.
Public Benefit
The organisation has consistently operated within its Public Benefit statement throughout 20118.
It has promoted the celebration and public worship of the Christian religion and sought to
promote moral improvement on Christian lines for a section of the community- Bible studies and
Sunday services continue to operate, encourage and inform those who attend.
Youth Clubs continue to function with voluntary leaders some also go on to further training in
another charity as a result of encouragement and experience received with us. The Youth meets
on Friday evenings from 2000hrs to 2130hrs. The Youth Club provides a safe space for young
people to come and meet. play game and have a short period of Christian Worship.
Children's clubs from age 3 years to Ilyears also continue to function and are well attended.
These clubs also provide a safe place for parents to leave their children from 1830hrs to 1945hrs
each Friday evening. The clubs take the form of childrens, games and simple bible stories. Twice a
year the Church holds two special services for the children to enable their parents to come to
church and to inform them of what the children have been doing throughout the year.
The Church continues to operate a Mums and Toddlers group each Monday morning where Mums
and their children come to meet and enjoy each otherfs company while their children are playing
and supervised by the church volunteers.
We also continue to operate a Friendship Club on Tuesday afternoon were adults meet take part in
board games, craft and a short Christian talk. They also enjoy a meal at the end of the afternoon.
In addition to this the core leadership have attended training 5e5sions over two year5 With other
charities to enhance their operational effectiveness.
All organisations continue to be run in accordance with Biblical principles and FMC guidelines.
The Trustees have regarded the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance.

The Purpose of the Charity:
The charity fulfils its purpose for the benefit of the East Belfast congregation of the Free
Methodist Church of UK and Ireland for the furtherance in East Belfast of the religious and
charitable work of the FMC. This is done in accordance with the doctrines and usages of the
Church as set forth in its Book of Discipline.
Flnancial review
The results for the year are set out on page 6 & 7. The charity returned net receipts/payments for
the year of £27,689. At 31 December 2018 the total funds of the charity amounted to £86,488
12017 £58.7991 of which restricted funds were £NILL and E86.48812017= £58.7991 were
unrestricted.
Reserves policy and going concern
Of the total funds reported above, £86,488 is made up of cash at the bank. The trustees are
confident that the cash reserves, together with expected future incomes. will be sufficient to meet
the working capital requirements for the forthcoming year. The trustees have also considered the
extent to which existing activities and expenditure could be curtailed, should the need arise.

Structurei goverance and management
Park Avenue Free Methodist Church Belfast is a registered charity, number NIC106074 and is
governed by it constitution.
Newtrustees are appointed when appropriate. Suitable candidates are considered on the basis of
their skills. experience and sympathy with the aims of the charity. New trustees will be agreed at a
trustees meeting before being invited to join.
Responsibilities of Trustees
As the charity's trustees we are aware of our responsibilities for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 21x18.
It is also our responsibility to:
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently
make judgements and estimates that are responsible and prudent
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate
to presume that the company will continue in business.

The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show
and explain the charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the
financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply
with CCNI guidelines. The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity
and hence to take reasonable steps to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.
Disclosures of Information to Independent Examiners
To the knowledge and belief of the Trustees there is no relevant information of which the
organisation's independent examiners are not aware. The Trustees have taken all the necessary
steps of which they are aware, provided relevant information and established that the
organisation's independent examiners are aware of the information.

I report on the accounts of Park Avenue Free Methodist Church Belfast for the year ended 31
December 2018, which are set out on pages 6 to 7.

As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with
the Charities Act {Northern Ireland) 21x18.
It is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts under sertion 65 of the Charities Act
follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under
section 6519llbl of the Charities Act
• state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's report
I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Art and my
examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission for Northern Ireland under section 6519llb) of the Charities Act.
My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison
of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items
or disc105ures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning
anysuch matters.
