Carryduff Primary School PTA Treasurer’s Report for the year ended 2 October 2019
The 2018/19 academic year was another successful year for Carryduff Primary School PTA, socially and financially, which in turn contributed towards the pressures faced by the school with ongoing limitations within education budgets.
The Income and Expenditure Report below shows PTA have reached the end of the year with a net deficit of £547, however, this does not reflect our healthy closing bank balance of £6,234 and the purchase of another Activ Panel Board.

PTA activities started in autumn 2018 with the annual spooky spectacular disco with our resident DJ Cindy.
Christmas celebrations included a number of events to add to the fundraising calendar eg jumping clay, designing Christmas cards, non-uniform day, tuck and of course our Christmas Fair.
2019 fundraising kicked off with a movie night and our first ever Easter trail which was very well supported by both parents and sunshine. Although profit of only £188 was raised, this is definitely an event with potential to expand and increase profit.
The summer term was busy again with tuck, non-uniform days and of course, our biggest event on the academic calendar – the summer fair.
Our event did clash with other community events and the weather was not favourable, however, our ice cream, traditional and sporting games, face painting, inflatables, BBQ and craft stalls were enjoyed by all and raised £1,039 which was a super effort. We look forward to next year’s fair, hopefully using our new pitches.
This of course included the ballot, only possible by the parents and local businesses who kindly donated our generous prizes.
Endeavouring to strike a good balance between education needs and fun, PTA have continued to fund Spanish tuition and class materials and have also contributed towards the revamp of the playground and school trips. A significant investment of an Activ Panel (interactive whiteboard) was also made in year.
The continued success of the PTA has been due to the dedication and planning of the current committee, Mrs Preston and a wider group of parents and school staff assisting to ensure the success of all the events run over the course of the academic year.
Accounts will now be independently examined and filed with the Charity Commission NI.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved for their efforts in the past year and wish the new committee every success in their fundraising going forward.
