## **YOUTH EMPOWERMENT** 

## **1[st] Armagh Scouts, Scouting Ireland is…………** 

**made up of Two Beaver Sections (45), Two Cub Sections (48), Two Scout Sections (46), One Venture Section (9), One Rover Section (1) and 37 Adult Members. There are a total of 220 youth members and 35 Adult Members.  We are a member of the Brian Boru Scout County, Northern Province, Scouting Ireland.**

Due to Covid, no county Reps are in place at present.

## **September 2021** 

- Every section completed registration and commenced weekly meetings.  We were still working with smaller numbers. 

- All sections started to get back to some sort of normality, but covid was very much in the forefront. 

- We tried to run as much outdoor activities as we could. 

## **October 2021** 

- All sections started to do Badge work again. 

- Both Cub Sections cooked on Trangia’s and completed their Backwoods Cooking Badges 

## **November 2021** 

- All sections held investitures for their new members. 

- Scout sections continued with their skills training in map and compass work. 

- We held our AGM on the 17[th] of November 21

## December 2021 

- Both Scout sections had their annual trip to Newry for Christmas shopping 

- Unfortunately, due to covid numbers we had to close early for Christmas.  It didn’t stop our group leader hand delivering xmas boxes to the youth member’s home. 

## January 2022 

- It was a late start back due to high covid numbers

## **April – June 22** 

- Our Beaver and Cub Section attended overnight camps. 

- Our Beavers went to Gosford 

- Cubs attended Shannaghmore, 

- It was great to get over nights again

_**The aim of 1[st] Armagh Scouts is to encourage the physical, intellectual, character, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people so that they may achieve their full potential and as responsible citizens, to improve society.**_ 

_**The Charity’s purposes are: The advancement of education The advancement of citizenship or community development**_ 


_**All volunteers receive training in Safeguarding, Programme (youth work) skills and adventure skills.**_ 

_**Volunteers gain additional transferrable skills, but this is incidental to the work that they do and are the skills that they require to undertake that work.**_ 

**A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the CCNIs guidance on Public Benefit.**
