## Activities

**Purposes:** Cairde Naíscoil Sliabh gCuillinn is established to advance education and training through the medium of the Irish Language for the benefit of the general public in Newry and Mourne and its environs of Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") and in particular:  (a) promote public awareness, knowledge and understanding of the cultural heritage of Ireland, bilingualism, and the Irish language, and to carry out research into, and promote public awareness of, the social and economic structures of Irish society including the Irish-speaking community;  (b) advance education by carrying out, or assisting in the carrying out of, research into the fields of Irish-medium education, culture, community-work, training, and business, (especially, but not exclusively, among voluntary sector and community-based initiatives and projects) in the area of benefit;  (c) promote research into the Irish language medium, cultural projects, community work, training and research.
