## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year**

1[st] Comber Guides is a group of girls aged 10-14 years old and who meet 30 weeks of the year (broadly school term time) on a Tuesday evening from 7.30-9.00pm. Numbers attending ranged from 12-14 throughout the year. The Unit is grateful for receiving EA Funding in support of our activities.

We started back in September and benefitted from programme activities across our values, craft, jam making, fun and friendship. We achieved a successful jam and chutney sale to raise funds, clearing £250 after costs, enabling the Unit to make a donation of £150 to the church and support our annual activities. In December the girls had the opportunity to see Disney’s ‘Wish’ as part of GG North Down events and also went 10-pin bowling as a treat before Christmas! As part of a joint initiative with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) the girls learned about what engineers do and their effective impact on society with structures such as bridges, buildings and roads. The highlight of the year was our annual camp, at Ganaway, Millisle in June run by Jordan and Jenny – 11 girls and 3 Rangers had a fabulous time learning new skills, sleeping in Icelandic tents and building friendships. Our youngest camp attendee was 10 weeks old! Annual awards were presented including 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 7 Bronze. 5 Girls in the Unit along with Leader, Jordan were able to attend a full week adventure as part of the North Down group adventure to the Isle of man in July 24 and one of our Gold achievers also went on a GGU International Camp to Switzerland in Aug 24. Life-long memories and friendships for all. Our 2 most senior girls were invited to escort the Vice Lord Lieutenant for County Down and the High Sheriff for County Down at the inaugural annual Somme Memorial event.

There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private benefit.
