All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.
The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.

A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
1[st] Newtownards Rainbows is a group of girls aged between 4 and 7 years of age, who meet 30 times a year on Tuesday evenings between 6.45 – 7.45pm. during the year September 2016 – June 2017 there were 18 Rainbows in regular attendance.
During the year Rainbows took part in the usual unit activities of games, badge work and craft. As a unit we did trip to ‘We Are Vertigo – Adventureland’ for climbing and low rope activities, Night Walk with Camp Fire and Songs and Adventure activities (bungee trampolining) and bbq. We also took part in out County Rainbow Funday.

All Trustees of 1[st] Newtownards Rainbows are aware of the Commissions Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance.
A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year
The balances in hand at the end of the financial year are £637.70 in the bank and £43.99 in cash, total position £681.69, enabling the unit to continue for the year.
The group has no assets.
Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit
