A summary of the CharitVs main actlvltles to further its purposes for the publlc benefit and the main achievements in the year 12 Bangor Rainbow Unit is a group of girls aged between 4 years old and 7 years old who meet 33 weeks of the year on Monday evening from 6.30pm- 7.30pm. During the year September 2022- June 2023 there were 17 Rainbows in regular attendance. Rainbows took part in games each night, did crafts and badges. We cooked buns and did a Halloween science night, with slime, chocolate sparklers. and an exploding volcano. We had a Christmas Adventure at Lorne. The girls learned about what to do in an emergenry and if the fire alarm went off in the building where we meet. We did a night looking at the stars and finding constellations and learning their names. The unit did a series of "Girls can do Anything" evenings and mum's came and chatted to the girls about theirjobs and why they liked them. So we had a mum / leader who was a pharmacist, and mum who is a firefighter and is a volunteer on the RNLI local rescue boat and a mum who was an optician. We also have a visit from St John Ambulance as part of this series too. The unit had a visit from a local pet farm who brought sm311 animals for the girls to meet. We visited the local library and there was an opportunity for girls to find out about what happens behind the scenes in a library. We finished our year with a visit to Girlguiding HQ Lorne, to play games and have our end of year badge presentation. So it was a busy exciting year.
