1[st] Kircubbin Rainbows

Girlguiding uk

Annual Report

For the year ended 31 August 2023

Charity Number NIC105924

Principle Objectives

Girlguiding believes in the value of learning by doing. This is put into practice through a method with five interlinking elements, known as the five Essentials of guiding

The Guiding method is delivered to young members grouped by age into four sections: Rainbow Guides, Brownie Guides, Guides and members of The Senior Section. It’s principles apply to all members, including Adults.

Activities during the year

During the year 2022-2023 the girls within our unit worked together to select the different activities they would like to take part in within our guiding programme. They learnt new skills as well as being mindful of the needs of the other girls within the group. Those girls who were a little shy at the beginning of the term grew in confidence as the year went on, while others learned the importance of turn taking and sharing recourses. All the girls were very keen to share any news they had with the others during our Rainbow Chat and each girl enjoyed taking “Olivia”, our rainbow doll, home for a week returning with lots of stories of what they got up too. The girls also joined rainbows from the other units within our county having fun at the cinema and the Rainbow funday.
