2[nd] Newtownards Rainbows is a busy unit of girls aged between 4 to 7 years old who meet on Monday evenings during school term time for one hour, from 6.30 – 7.30pm.
The rainbows follow a programme of activities based on their own suggestions and interests, as well as those from the main Rainbow programme from Girlguiding UK which involves working towards badges, games and craft activities. In addition, we aim to have up to three outings per year to allow the girls an experience outside of the meeting hall and this year the highlight for the girls was a sandcastle building competition on Crawfordsburn Beach to round off the year.
