**The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.**

## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year** 

There were 15 Rangers aged 14-18years with full membership during the year meeting fortnightly from Sept until June. The group met every 2 weeks at their hall taking part in Girlguiding Programme theme awards, skills builders and completing badges. We had 2 girls complete their silver award and 4 girls complete their gold award last year. 

There were 3 residential opportunities during the year for the Rangers to attend. A camping weekend at crawfordsburn scout centre in September, a Christmas weekend at Ballyhornan Scout centre in  December and a trip by train for sight seeing and a theatre show in Derry/Londonderry. Rangers go on the trips with Movilla Abbey Guides and gain leadership and mentoring skills to the younger girls.  7 rangers attended a County residential summer trip for  5 outdoor activity days in the Isle of Man in July 2024. 

Rangers continue to work on also completing  their Duke of Edinburgh and Commonwealth Awards. 

The group was led by volunteer leaders and there was no harm flowing from Movilla Abbey Ranger programme and activities and there were no private benefits.

The Trustees are aware of the Commissions public benefit requirements statutory guidance. 

## **A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year** 

Movilla Abbey Rangers ran shared camps with Movilla Abbey Guides this year and had a deficit of £2325.00 as There was a large payment for the girls attending the Isle of Man County summer outdoor activity trip for 5 days from the account this year.  Fundraising money was carried over from last year into this account to also support the County Isle of Man trip. 

Membership fees and insurance to Girlguiding UK of £825 were paid for Rangers from this account with some weekly programme activities  run jointly with Movilla Abbey Guides as they meet in the same halls on the same night. 

There is sufficient funds of £785.43 to begin guiding in September 2023 for another year for Movilla Abbey Rangers.
