The tNslees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 30 November
2023. The trustees, who are also directors of Cullyhanna Co]nmunity Group for the purposes
of company Iaw and who served during the year and up to the date of this report, are set out
on page l.
Structure, Governance and Management
Cullyhanna Community Group was incorporated on 9 November 2010 and is governed by a
voluntary board of directors. The direclors meet during the year to make management
decisions on areas such as slTategkC pIanning, fundraising, seeking funding to provide
facilities and amenities for recreation. The board is respoT)sible for policymaking.
Risk
The direitors have actively reviewed the major risks which the charity faces and beIieves that
the charity ha5 sufficieiit re50ufies in the event of advei'se conditions. The directors have also
examined other business and operational risks, which the charity faies and confirm that it has
established systems to mitigate significant Tisks.
Objectives and Activities
The main objective of Cullyhanna Community Group is to advance community development
in the area and in paTticular the proniotion of the community and voluntary sector for the
benefit of the public by Providing facilities and amenitie5 at the Rural Family Focus Centre, as
well as training, support and information, to community and voluntary groups and
organisations to work in partneTship and co-operation to achieve their aijns.
Achievements and Performance
During 2011 funding was secured to proceed with the Tenovations to the Community Centre.
The centre provides multipurpose facilities for use by the community. Community Groups
operating out of the centre are youth, sports / footbalL bowls and other comniunity groups
using the centre on a regular basis.
Finan¢ial Review
Newry, Mourne & Down Council pi'ovided grants totalling £5,264 towards runntng costs
during the Ye￿ ended 30 November 2023.
National Lottery Community Fund income deferred at 30 November 2022 of £2,847 was
released in the year ended 30 November 2023.
Overview of Performance
For the year ended 30 November 2023 Cullyhanna Community Group incurred a deficit of
£2,872 (2022.. £1,7￿7).

Incoming Resources
Total incoming resources for the year ended 30 November 2023 were a0,551 (2022: £13,682).
Reserves Policy
The charitys policy is to maintain a level of free reserves which meeLs the needs of the
organisation both at the current time and in the foreseeable future. Free reserves are Ats total
funds excluding i'estTiCted funds, designated funds or income funds which can only be
released by disposing of fixed assets held for charity use.
Statement of trustees, responsibiIities
The trustees (who are also directors of Cullyhanna Community Group for the purposes of
company law) are responsible for preparllig the TrusLees' Annual Repiort and the financial
statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting PTacttce.
Company law requires the trustees, to prepare the financial statements for each financial
period which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of
the incoming resouries and application of resources, llicluding the income and expenditure,
of the charitable company for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the
directors al'e required to..
Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.
Observe the niethods and prlnciples in the Charities SORP;
Make judgemeiits and esiimated that are reasonable and prudent;
State whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any
material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements,. and
Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis, unless it is inappropriate
to presume that the charitable company will continue in bu5ine5S.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with
reasonabEe accuracy at any tinie the financial position of the charitabIe company and to
enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006.
They are a150 responsible for safeguarding the asseLs of the charitable company and hence for
taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
