Missionary Container Service Trust is a company limited by guarantee and is governed by a Memorandum and
Articles of Association. It ¥*as incorporated in Northern Ireland in 2007.
Objectives and Activities
The charity carries out a number of activitieb in furtherance of its objeknts. We collect donations of pra￿tICal itcms cg
clothes. toiletries. food, pOl￿dered milk. medical equipmenL tools, building suppli¢s. bedding. school deskJ. chairs.

the coIilainer by road to a distribution point in Zambia. All goods are shipped for use by the Inissionaries for the
piiblic benefjt and wellbeing of the African people. The goods and materials are distributed free of charge to the
beneflciaries - the Afriian people who are in need. The charity carries OUE its mT*sionary and outreach ￿Ork to ad-
vance the Christian faith by supporting the practical needs of the benefickaries in Africa (matnly Zambia) with
whom certain missionaries are NTrorking. The missionaries are connecied lo our Church Grouping (Gospel Halls
throughout the UK and furlher afield), and have the full confidence of the church elders and the trustees of MCST.
The donations supplied by the charity is direitly applied by the missionaries to the beneficiaries for the relief of
povety, advancement of education, and relief of sick and disabled perbons and the promotion of their phySi￿al and

spiritual welfare. All items are in an inventory provided to the reiipient missionary. Tlic costs of the shipping and
internal tratisport are paid for by the charity. The charity .%upplies medical equipment. education equipmetit and
practiial needs in this way and often the recipients are in the bush:, far all.ay from lO￿,nS. Donors are a£sured by the
charity that their donations reach those in need and are applied for the purpi)ses of the charity to advance the Chris-
t1￿1 faith, relief of powerty, adi￿anceMent of education and relief of sick and disabled persons with the proinotion of
their phjsical and spiritual welfare.

The dircct benefits which flow from this purpose are th¢ enhancement of spiritual teaching to meet th¢ spiritual
needs of the people through the practical support of the charity for missionary and outreabh work by the supply of
goods and iiiaterials to missionaries (relioious persons) for communiknating of the Christian faith to change the lives
of the beneficiaries to help them find a new purpose and joy in life and live happier and more productive lives. This
is evidenkned by the number of beneficiaries who have Icarned of the Lhristian b'aith through the materials supplied
(and inedical assistanie given) by the Charity and used by thc Missionaries in Afritsa. The beiieficiaries of this pur-
pose ate people living overseasl in developing countries in particular in Zambia, Africa particularly those in the
bush" and rcmotc area).

The direct benefits which flow from this purpL75C IS that the beneficiaries in Africa have their basic needs met
through prakntical assistance from the charity by its donations of food, clothing.. equipment and goods to the benefi-
ciari¢b WÈth which to enable them to have a better life. Thls is evidenced by the number of people helped by the do-
nations froEn the charity who are living in poverty. The benefIciaries of this purpose are the people living over.seas/

Purpose 3 - Advancement of Education
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the provision by the charity of desks, chairs, books, and
oiher educaiional maierials and ¢quipment ivhich enables the education ol children, Joung people and adults prepar-
ing them to find employment. a trade or to start a business to support themsclvci and their families in the future
which in turn lead to better health and a reduction in poverty. This is evidenced by the number of children/)'oung
people/adults attending school and utilising the educational equipment and materials provided by the charity. The

appliances. apparatus and supplies provided by the charity for the relief treatment and rehabilitation Df pnnr, sick
and disabled persons. This includes mediknal equipinent and expertise and practical items sucli as furniture and sta-
tionery, and to aiiist with the construction of buildings for example throuoh pro￿lS1On of steel girders, roofIng

Achievements and performance
A total of three containers were shipped in this year (2023.4).
Financial review
Total incomc for the year Vias £71,040 compared to £77.351 in the previous year.
Shipping costs were £51,543, cost of goods purchased was £18,427, paper purchases £3,200, administrativc
expcnses £6,104 giving a total expenditure of £79,274 (2023:£77,443).
This resulted in a deficit for the year of £8,234 (2023: deficit £91.

Respollsibilitie5 in respect of the financial Statements.
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Annual Rcport and the financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.

of the state of affairs of the congregations and the financial activities for the year. In preparing the fmancial
statements the Trustees are required to:

As the charity's tsustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act
(Northern Ireland) 2008. It is my responsibility to:

I. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The principal accounting policies are summarised below. The accounting policies have been applied consistently
throughout the year.
Basis of Preparation
The financial ststements have been prepared in accordance with the Acknounting and Reporting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Practicc FRSI 02 (Charities SORP FRS102). The accounts are prepared on an Accruals
Basis.
Fund Accounting
Unrestrictcd funds are availablc for use at the discretion of the ttustees in ￿rthcrance of the general objectives of
the charity. Restricted funds are subj¢¥ted to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the
tern]s of appeal.
Incoming Resources
All incoming resources are included in th¢ statcmcnt of financial activities when the charity is entitld to thc inconie
and the amount can be quantified with r¢asonable accuracy. The following specific policies are applied to particular
catcgorics of incomc.
Vnliintary inc.ome is received by ￿."aY of grants, donations and gifts and is included in full in the Statement of
Financial Activities when receivable.
Donated services and faknilities are included at the valu¢ to thc charity where this can be quantified. The value
of services provided by volunteers has not been included.
Income from investments is included in the year in which it is receivable.

Expenditure is recognised on an actual basis. Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be recovered, and is
rcported as part of the expenditure to which it relates.
Charitable expenditure comprises thobe Coits incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for
its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be alloknat¢d directly to such activities and those costs of an indir¢ct
nature ncicbsary to support th¢m.
