The financlal statements hav8 been prepared on the hlstorfcal cost basis, as modlfj8d by the revaluation
of certain financial assets and liabilibes and investment properties measured at fair value Ihrough profrt
or loss.
The financial statements are prepared in steriing. which is the functlonal currency of the entity.
Hornewstsrt Amiagh & Dungannon meets the definition of a public benefft entity under FRS 102 and 15
o wmpany Ilmtted by guarantee incorporated in Northem Ireland wlthln the Unlted Klngdom. The
address of the registered offic8 is given in the company information page of these financial ststements.
The nature of the companys operatlons and Its principal activities is to safeguard. protect and pres8Ne
th6 good health and well-being of children and parents and to promote the education of th8 public in
better standards of childcare in the area of Arniagh and Dungannon and its environs.
Proparatlon of accounts on a golng concern basis
Though th8 company made a loss in the last few years it is sfill in a healthy net asset position at the end
of the year with no reliancè on external loans so on this basls the company Is a going concem.
Income
Income is recognised wh8n the charity has entitlement to th8 funds, any perfonnancè ¢ondition5 attached
to the Ite￿ of income have been met, it is probable that the income WRII be re￿iVed and the amount Can
be measured rellably.
Income from govemment and other grants. whether 'capttal' grants or 'rev8nue' grants, is recognised
whèn the ¢harfty has entltlement to the funds, any performance conditions attached to th6 grant have
been met. it is probable that the income will be received and the amount Can be measured reliably and is
not deferred.

In accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) the general volunteer time is not recognised as

Unrestricted funds are available to spend on activities that further the purposes of the charity. Designated

Expenditure and Irracovorable VAT

Impalmi•nt
A review for indicators of impalrment Is carried out at each reporting date, with the recoverable amount
béing estimated where such indicators exist. Wh8re the orrylng value exceeds the recoverabFe
amount, the asset Is Impaired accordingly. Prior impaimients are also reviewed for px>ssible reversal at
each reporting date.
Vlhen it is not possible to estimate the recoverable amount of an individual asset, an Èstimatè is rr¥ade
of the recoverable amount of the cash4Jenerating unit to which the asset belongs. The cash-generating

The company only has financlal assets and financlal Ilabilittes of a ktnd that qualify as basic financial
instruments. BasiG financial instruments are initially recognised et transaction value and subsequenlly
measured at their settlement value with the exception of bank loans which are subsequently measured at
amortised cost uslng the effective interest method.
