Trustees, Report - Year Ended 31 December 2022
Ob'ectives and Activities
To promote the inhabitants of Clady and Innisru5h (the area of benefit) without the
distinction of age, sex, race, political or other opinion, by associating with the statutory
authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to provide
opportunities in the interest of social welfare and health with the object of improving the
condition of life for the said inhabitants.
Achievement and Performance
The group has achieved a number of objectives since last yearfs report. Our hall has
continued to evolve in its use for the local community. The most recent development has
come in the form of a community gym utilising a room at the back of the hall that was
underused. This has been leased by a local sporting organisation and has helped improve
health and wellbeing in the community.
The new river pathway scheme continued to be well used by community members and by
those who travel from neighbouring areas to use the safe, picturesque waterside walkway.
The 8reenway trail helps to link the two villages of Clady and Inni5rush, Increase accessibility
and user numbers and enhance the health and wellbeing opportunities for all of the local
community.
We continued with the planning process for the proposed new multi-sports hall in
conjunction with the Education Authority Nl. Significant funding received throughout the
year has been spent on professional fees to continue this planning phase. A final decision on
the project is still pending based on the current financial situation and a moratorium on new
capital projects.
Activities at the hall continued to recover as the local community emerged from the Covid-
19 pandemic. 8ookings from local groups are now back to the levels of regularity seen prior
to Covid 19. We welcome Irish Danting, Gaelic football and Camogie, basketball, St Vincent
de Paul charitable group, and continued to host funeral gatherings and occasional wedding
celebraiions.
The youth group continued to operate the increasingly popular weekly youth club and the
successful annual summer scheme.
Financial Review
The group has received funding from Mid Ulster Council, Education Authority, Northern
Ireland Housing Executive and DAERA arnong others, totalling £11,111.
