Report and the unaudited financial statements for the financial year ended 31 August 2024. In this report the trustees of The Sacred Heart Boxing Club present a summary of its purpose, govemance, activities, achievements and finances for the financial year 31 August 2024. Mission, Objectives and Strategy Mission Statement To provide a quality cornmunitylamateur boxing club based in the ArmaghlDown ar8a that caters for the needs Df all its participants so that they can achieve their potential. Compliance with Public Benefft The Charity Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's statutory public benefit guidance to ensure that activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the charity's aims and objectives as well as providing public benefit. Objectlves The aims and objectives ofthe charity are.. To provide a safe, friendly, positive, social and community boxing environment for all participanls. To offer coaching and competitive opportunities in boxing., To promote the club within the local community and bDxing; To manage the premises of Sacred Heart boxing club-, To ensure a duty of care to all members of the club-, To provide all its services in a way that is fair lo everyone. Encourage the development of our coaches and volunteer staff through the provision of courses and relevant training.. Develop and maintain links with other clubs and competitions throughout the region., To remain in touch with the needs of its members and potential members, and place these needs at the forefront of any developments within the Glub., To increase the club's m8mbership through PR, marketing and innovative open sessions., To hold a central database ot all members, coaches and officials within the club., To continually seek applicable funding and finance so that the aims and objectives of the Sacred Heart Boxing Club can be fulfilled. Structure, Governance and Management Structure The board of trustees of the charity at 31 August 2024 were John Patrick Mccormick Andrew Mackin Phelim Jennings (resigned 12 January 2024) Deniss Boriskins (appointed 04 June 2024) Allan White (appointed 04 June 20241 Cathal Jennings (appointed 04 Jurse 2024} The trustees are chosen according to their interest and experience in the field of boxing. Governance The principal document regarding governance of the charity is the constitution. The charity is an unincorporated organisation. Review of Activities, Achievements and Performance The club runs weekly classes to teach and coach boxing to children and young people. The club competes in various competitions. During the year the club was very successful with five Armagh Down champions, four Louth champions, Co. Antrim Senior Novice champion and a Mid Ulster champion. The trustees were impressed with the achievements of th8 club during th8 financial year. Financial Review The results for the financial year are set out on page 7. and reflect the activities undertaken by the charity in the financial year 2024. The charity had income of £5,630 and expenditure of £7.254 resulting in a deficit of £1,624. The charity had unrestricted reseNes of£1,010 at 31 August 2024.
The Sacred Heart Boxing Club TRUSTEES, REPORT for the financial year ended 31 August 2024 At Ihe end of the financial year the charity has assets of £1,010 (2023 - £2,634) and liabilities of £0.00 {2023 £0.00). The net assets of the charity have decreased by £1.624. Reserves Position and Policy The charity had unrestricted reserves of £1,010 at 31 August 2024. The charity's policy is to build reserves to cover expenditure for a period of at least one month. The trustees believe that it is prudent to work towards holding at least one months funding. The main reason for holding reserves is to ensure the charity has enough resources to fund future charitable activities. The Sacred Heart Boxing Club INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SACRED HEART BOXING CLUB We have examined the financial statements ofthe charity forthe financial year ended 31 August 2024, which comprise the Financial Statements. This report is made sol8ly lo the charity's members, as a body, in accordance with the Charities Act {Northem Ireland) 2008. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the financial statements that we have been engaged to compile, report to the Board ofTrustees that we have done so, and state those matters that we have agreed to slate to them in this report and for no other purpose. To th8 fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charity's m8mbers, as a body, for our worf(, or for this report. Respective responslbllltles of trusteès and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charilies Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this financial year under the Charities Act (Northern Ireland} 2008 and that an ind8pendent examination is required. It is our responsibility to.. examine the financial ststements under section 65 of the Charities Act., follow the procedures laid down by the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland under section 65191{bl of the Charities Acl., and stale whether particular matters have come to our attenlion. Basis of independent examlner's report We have examined your charity financial slatements as required under section 65 of tho Charit18s Act and our examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland under section 65{9llbl of the Charities Act. An èxamination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in Ihe financial statements and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be requir8d in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fairf view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention which gives us cause to believe that in, any material respect.. accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act the financial statements do not accord with those accounting records that the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act there is further infonnation needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Independent examin8r's statement W8 have no concerns and have come across no othèr matters in connectlon with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in or er to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
